It is amazing what we will do for a "quick fix". There is an underlying belief that an immediate weight loss will solve all of our problems, and make us happier. You have tried a variety of solutions. Some are new to me. Like you, I am medication sensitive, and wouldn't try a pill. Like you, I have tried the slim fast, but have mostly relied on the "deprivation" method.
Experience has taught you well. Your insight touches many.

Oh my, yes! I've tried the 3 day diet, slim fast, the cabbage soup diet, a raw food diet....just about everything out there. I lost weight on all of them, but nothing that I could live with. And of course, non of the weight loss was permanent.

The one thing I never did try was diet pills. I'm extremely sensitive to any kind of drugs, so I was too afraid to try those.

The raw food diet was probably the most extreme. I lost a lot of weight, but felt hungry, sick and grumpy the entire month I was on it.

We only need to turn on the television, open a magazine or newspaper, or simply speak or listen to those around us to hear some rather extreme measures taken in the name of weight loss, diet or nutrition. emoticon Just for today consider the following: Has there ever been a time in your life when you engaged in behaviors designed for an improvement or weight loss which were working against true health? If so, what were they?
