ZUCCHINIQUEEN,
Absoulutely! Your foresight, in addition to your insight is what will help you achieve and maintain the goals you have set for yourself. How our bodies change as we age is often neglected. The importance of our bones is often too frequently neglected until it is too late.
Keep moving!

Teresa

Absolutely! You have summed so well why exercise is so important to your health.
I am right there with you emoticon Execept for the sleep, and I don't believe anything will help with that. emoticon
When I began my journey, I hated every step I took. I knew my life quality depended on it so I trudged on. It took two to three years before I noted the change that it really did improve most areas of my life. Now, I feel out of shorts when unable to get about. So much for my experience-I have heard the same thing from many who didn't like to exercise. Hopefully, for those who don't care for it they too will find positive results.
On a final note I think it is fantastic that you are able to keep up with those beautiful active grandchildren!

Teresa

Since I am a Sr. Citizen, I have to think about the bone strengthening that exercise provides.

I exercise for a lot of reasons -

It relieves stress. I never used to believe this was true, until I started exercising on a regular basis. When I had a few days that I couldn't exercise, I noticed my stress level was higher. A ride on my bike or a run made me feel much better.

It helps keep my heart healthy. Heart disease is a big problem in my family. I try to get in 60 minutes of cardio on most days to keep my heart in good condition.

I can eat more:) At age 53, my metabolism just doesn't work as efficiently at burning calories as it did 20 years ago. Exercise allows me to have extra calories in my food budget.

I sleep better at night if I've been active during the day.

My husband is active and this gives us something to do together. We run, we garden, we bicycle, we walk, we camp, we hike...

I'm able to keep up with my seven grandchildren. I remember my grandmother as someone who sat around most of the time in front of the tv and crocheted (and she was a wonderful grandmother). Because of my activity and energy level, I am able to go sledding, fishing, camping, hiking and bike with my grandchildren. And they come to my runs and cheer for me at the finish line:)

We all are well aware that exercise is an important part of remaining healthy.
emoticon Just for today consider the role exercise plays in your life. For example Why do you do it?
What benefit does it have, if any? etc.
