I've learnt that I can maintain my present weight on maintenance without being perfect all the time. Now when I have a slip I just accept it and I move on without any guilt.
The other thing I've learnt is to be on my guard and take actions when I now gain more than 2 pounds on maintenance.
In the past gaining 5 pounds didn't bothered me. I still looked good. 5 pounds turned into 10, 20 50 pounds gain. That's how I've played the Yo-Yo game so many years, so many times.
No more!

I have learned to accept the fact that I am not going to drop 10 pounds in a week and to celebrate the baby steps I can achieve. Those baby steps do add up!I have also learned to stop beating myself up if I am not perfect!

I feel much more self assured when I've accomplished something. Two years ago, I couldn't walk a mile without getting out of breath. I can now run nearly 11 miles! When I reflect upon that, I realize I can do a lot more than I ever thought I could!

As for physical - I no longer say, "I can't". I am willing to try just about anything now. I have been fearful for most of my life - I am no longer the same person in that respect.
