Even if it's good for you, you have to measure. Use 1 tsp seeds for 10 cals. One oz of beans is 1/2 a protein or about 30 cals. Even vinaigrette is oil, and each tsp is 1 fat, or 40 cals. Doesn't matter whether the croutons are bread or rice, 1/2 oz is 1/2 bread, or 40 cals.
It all adds up. Only the veggies are free. I have learned to love the crunch of veggies with balsamic vinegar (0 cals). Any additions make the salad the main course rather than the side dish.
No one ever got up in the morning wishing she'd eaten more the night before.
