I am the slowest eater I know. I don't do it on purpose, I just chew me food well before swallowing. I have always been a very slow eater.

I'm afraid that if I started counting chews I wouldn't enjoy the food. I chew as much as it takes to extract the most taste and texture from each mouthful, which is why I eat. Hard food takes longer than, say, mashed potatoes. I like to taste each item on my plate separately, then together in different combinations to get different effects. And the taste can be enhanced by sips of my beverage.
Since I can eat fewer mouthfuls at my age, I need to get the maximum enjoyment out of each bite. That's why I prefer to eat my own cooking.
No one ever got up in the morning wishing she'd eaten more the night before.
Original Goal: 114. Current old lady goal: 106.
Chew More, Weigh Less?
