So...how is everybody doing with their Thanksgiving meal today? Staying on plan? Struggling? Need some support/encouragement to keep on keeping on? HONK! HONK!

I didn't weigh in on this the day before cause I was having a bad day and didn't even want to think about "tomorrow". Well before I went to bed I planned out what I was going to eat today and for the most part I followed my plan. I made a few adjustments at meal time but it was a success!

I cooked so I had full control on what all went in things. I weighed and measured everything and found myself passing on things that I would have normally have had in order to have more of another (ie Turkey...which I figured was ok cause it's a good souce of protein). It felt GREAT to finally be in control of this meal as I just LOVE a good Thanksgiving dinner! I was 100% on plan and even have points to spare for a snack later on! WHOOO HOOO!!!!

Mimi: 350-700 optional calories per week are for the weight loss time, you can go up to 2100 on maintenance. I'm old enough now that I stick to about 1400. You also get bonus selections varying depending on where you are. You can use them on anything you want. I still avoid snack food because I don't want to develop the habit, and I only rarely eat sweet desserts. It's the age thing.

I lost 33 pounds in 1970, and I am just under that old goal of 114. I lost on the old Plan, and got into exchanges on maintenance I can't remember when. I stopped weighing in 30 years ago so I'm no longer Lifetime, but as long as I'm at goal, I'm happy.

What a wonderful plan you have. You're doing so great on maintenance.

Please remind me again (I need some inspiration) how many years are you already on maintenance.
Thank you

By the way, I do think that the WW exchange plan that you still follow is one of the best programs WW ever had because the exchanges are healthy foods chosen from all food groups.
Do you have 700 calories per week to spend on whatever you want to? Do you also choose healthy foods also from the 700 optional calories, if you want to?
It's simmilar to followint the daily 8 healthy guidelines, which if we follow them, we're using all of our daily points.

Good for you Nell.

I love your name. I was going to name my little girl Nellie after my Grandma but went with a Anna. Still love the name.

Mimi: I can tell you right now that I'm going to do great because......I'm the cook! It's a lot of work to do all the cooking, but I get to make sure that I have exactly what I want to have a fabulous LEGAL, guilt-free dinner.

And afterwards I'll package it all up and send it home with some grateful kids.

I LOVE being the cook!!
