Same here...I have canteloupe, honeydew, bananas, green & red grapes, strawberries & blueberries. I can eat all of these all day long I love them so much.

On the other hand I have red, yellow & green peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, zucchini, yellow squash and cauliflower and it's an effort just to chop them up for dinner.

Half the battle was just stocking up my kitchen...now I just need to make sure I follow my initial plan and continue to use them daily.

That is my goal too. Colorful vegetables and fruits.
My goal is to eat more vegetables than fruits but I like fruits much more than vegetables....
I wish it was the other way around (...smile...)

Thanks Mimi! I recently started trying to eat all the colors of the rainbow with my f/v (Aug 1 I started). I've got to say the inside of my refrigerator is more colorful now...lol.

I THINK THAT IT WAS RECOMMENDED (W.W.)TO EAT AT LEAST 5 FRUITS/VEGGIES. I READ THAT THEY ARE NOW SAYING THAT WE SHOULD EAT 5-8 PER DAY. I DO TRY TO EAT 8-10 PER DAY.

Heidi has the correct answer.

Minimum of 5 serving of fruits and vegetables per day, COMBINED.
WW does not specify the minimum number of servings for vegetables or fruits.
If you have the points, you could have 4 fruits and 1 vegetable... but a better choice will be the oposite....
Minimum of 3 vegetables and 2 fruits sounds fine.
More tnan 5 servings is great, especially if the extra ones are vegetables.
Most vegetables are 0 points per serving.
Starchy vegetables "cost" you points.
It takes about 4 1/2 cups of raw fresh broccoli, for instance, to make it 1 point(because of the low calories and fat and high Fiber)
One cup of broccoli is about 25 calories, 0.2 fat and 2.5 fiber.

The more vegetables the better.
The more colorful vegetables, the better.

The botoom line is common sense... If I eat lots of fruits and vegetables and still lose the WW recomended weekly weight, I'll continue with what works for me.....

Yes, which then would mean that you are meeting the "minimum" requirement. They don't say we can't go over the minimum, the GHG are in place to make sure we meet all the minimum requirements.

So if you are eating 5 of each, then you are exceeding the minimum requirement and doing good! :)

The way I see it, was if the "minimum" was 5 of each, then they would have 10 boxes and not 5 in their quick trak booklets and also on the website.

I always took it to be a combination of any 5...fruits or veggies to total 5 (or more!) daily.

When I first joined WW, I was doing it strictly online and in their tracker they have on their site, it has check boxes for the healthy guidelines. There are 3 dairy, 5 f/v, 2 oils, 6 water, etc.

I never read anything in the articles or WW literature to make it seem we needed 5 of each. Even their quick track booklets that you get from the meetings have the check boxes and I don't remember there being 10 boxes for the f/v's.

In the WW 8 good health guidelines advise

1. Eat at least 5 servings of vegetables and fruits each day.

Does this means? Any team members/ WW leaders available to answer question.



1. 5 veggies and 5 fruits

2. 3 veggies and 2 fruits

3. 2 veggies and 3 fruits

What is the right answer?
