Use it to make a regular taco or for a taco salad. I like my taco salads made very simple. a bowl of lettuce, toppings I would put on a taco. (black olives, onions, tomatoes, maybe some green pepper)add the cooked taco meat(made with the seasoning mix),top with salsa for salad dressing, a little reduced fat cheese and a bit of sour cream.

I would brown some turkey sausage with a half of a chopped onion, add the seasoning but bump up the chili powder to 2tbs. Add a tsp of coriander, a half cup of low sodium chicken broth and a half cup of of low sodium tomato sauce, a tsp of splenda and 2 tsp of cider vinegar. Cook till thickened. Then I would make tacos with low carb shells, fat free cheddar/mozzarella, green onions, lettuce and salsa.
Or make two batches of seasoning and make enchiladas.

Wow Barbara, thanks for that. I have all of those ingredients in my cupboards. No prizes for guessing what's on tomorrow's menu! emoticon

I'd mix it with some ground turkey and a can of chopped tomatoes/beans/peppers/onions, bubble away until it reduced down. Throw into some taco shells, top with avocado, low fat cheese or sour cream/creme fraiche/salsa....slurp!!! emoticon

Taco Seasoning Mix

Remember--Its cheaper than the packages with no sodium ingredient

2 t. instant minced onion
2 t. chili powder
1/2 t. dried oregano
1/2 t crushed dried red pepper
1/2 t. instant minced garlic
1 t ground cumin
1 t. cornstarch

You can make several & put in baggies or
Re-label empty spice containers- and fill with your own mixture of Taco seasoning (without salt ingredient)

Top with green onions

Now give us a recipe how you would use Taco Seasoning Mix.
