What a good to lose weight.
#50 - Kiss someone you love: Yes — kissing is an aerobic exercise and it burns approximately 6.4 calories per minute. If you kiss a person you love (not just anyone, mind you) for ten minutes a day, you could lose up to eight pounds per year!
**Didn't know it before now, but what a great excuse for getting extra smooches!!!
Happy Independence Day to you.

These are the ones that I thought were great for me to try and remember:

#23 - Paint the dining room blue: The color blue is an appetite suppressant, which is why you’ll never see that color in any fast food restaurant. Use blue plates, a blue tablecloth, or paint the walls blue to help keep your hunger at bay.
(I've never heard of this but I'm going to try it!)

#24 - Use smaller plates: If you pile a small plate with food, that’s still less food than a large plate piled with food. Also, try using smaller glasses for juices, coffee, etc.
(Heard of it, but haven't done it - yet)

#41 - One pound per week: If you’re not losing one pound per week on your chosen diet and exercise programs, then you may have stalled or finished all these programs have to offer. You may need to push yourself a little harder or even rest for a week or two until you body catches up with all the changes you’ve made. Alternately, if you’re losing more than one pound per week, you’re doing great - just don’t expect to lose a pound per day, otherwise you can become ill.
(*great to remember when things seem way to slow!)

#43 - Buy a pedometer: You don’t need an expensive pedometer, but don’t skimp on this item, either. Once you own one, clip it to the waist of your pants and start walking. Try to aim for 5,000 steps a day if you’re unaccustomed to walking. Then, see what it would take for you to reach 10,000 steps per day. The first goal will help you maintain weight, and 10,000 steps per day will help you lose weight.
(I'm aiming for 10,000!)

Great ideas there, Mimi.

I threw out all my "fat" clothes last week. I haven't a STITCH left to wear, so the pressure is on to slim into the next size down. Hee hee!

I'm going to stick to a written grocery list in future, no more wandering around the supermarket in a daze.

I'm going to buy smaller plates too!!

One Day At A Time is a primary principle of the 12 step programs, and Jean Nidetch even mentioned it's inmportance in her Story of Weight Watchers. The theory is that if you look at "never being able to drink again" or "having to watch what I eat for the rest of my life", you'll be so overwhelmed by the enormity of the job that you'll drink. Or binge. But you can do just about anything for One Day. Yesterday is done, Tomorrow isn't here yet, so just deal with Today. It is SO much easier to stay OP one day at a time. That's why I don't believe in, say, being a certain weight by a certain date. Do each day according to your Program, and Tomorrow will take care of itself. There is no number on a scale involved in your daily program, and there is no feeling like putting your head on your pillow at night, knowing that this day you have done everything you could do to get toward your goal.

Have a wonderful OP day!!

Mimi: #11 is a big part of One Day At A Time. I made a rule when I quit work to stay home (almost 19 years ago...where does the time go??!!) to wear lipstick and perfume every day. It's as much a part of my Program as the food.

I'm not sure about the statement above..... (...smile...)
But my own experience tells me that the scale always follow consistent healthy habits (in its own time).

Which habits are you chosing to work on?
