Shopping on the discount racks will help those savings. We have increased buying legume, fruits, vegetables. Even Dollar General can foods are good . EXPERIMENT with just one can then if taste/usable for you family-by again. I retired from a job(26 yrs) in sales/department store-if I knew something was going on sale I would ask my customer if she needed it today? I tried to put myself in their shoes buying. My yearly sales won awards as one of the top in sales for our store. Do for others as you would like to be treated. My customers were like family to be.

emoticon Wonderful reminders. I am on a fixed income and have learned a few tricks can save quite a bit in the long run. I make many of my own sauces and broths and freeze them. I have also found that a small food chopper will pay for itself many times over. As it becomes more expensive to heat healthy I have been experimenting with making my own basic ingredients.
