I've tried it yesterday and it was so delicious!
Instead of buying an expensive box of Smoothies packages, here is a "formula" for making your own Smoothies, very inexpensive.
Creamy Fruit Smoothie
Dry milk adds texture and protein without fat or a lot of calories.
Try this easy concoction with your favorite fruit: Strawberries, blackberries,bananas, kiwifruit,peaches or cherries, for example.
A healthy alternative to the traditional milk shake.
(to make 1 serving, divide by 4)
3 cups fruit, fresh, frozen, unsweetened or canned (drained)
1 1/3 cups (3.2 ounces envelope) carnation dry milk
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup ice cubes
2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or Splenda or Stevia to taste)
1 teaspoon vannila extract
1. I added 1 TBS. sugar free, fat free DaVinchi syrup (0 calories)
They come in in a bottle, in many flavores, such as hazelnut, cappuchini, vanila, caramel, amaretto, gingerbread and many more...
I buy it in Marshal's or T.J. Max.
2. Instead of 1/2 cup water I added 1 cup soy milk (or skim milk) and a little more ice cubes.
That gave me 2 SERVINGS of DAIRY in one Smoothie!
Place all ingredients in a blender: cover: Blend until smooth.
Note: For a tropical sensation, use a mixture of mango, papaya and pineapple.
