Yvonne, your raw zucchini soup of May 9th talks to me. I want to try that.

Eightisenough, I never heard of coconut yogourt -- do you make it yourself?


5/1/12 -- Shanghai bok choy / pear / pineapple

5/2/12 -- Swiss chard / mango / frozen wild blueberries

5/3/12 -- none

5/4/12 -- parsley / baby dill / romaine / frozen cranberries / plum / orange / banana

5/5/12 -- collard / Shanghai bok choy / frozen cranberries / pear

5/6/12 -- Swiss chard / kiwis / guavas
Note: since I use a small 350-watts smoothie blender, not a super-blender, the seeds of the guavas stayed whole; it's a little weird, I swallowed them whole

5/7/12 -- kale / plum / grapes / banana

5/8/12 -- spinach / orange / blueberries (frozen)

5/9/12 -- collard / baby bok choy / pear / frozen cranberries

5/10/12 -- parsley / baby dill / wakame flakes (sea vegetable) / kiwis / frozen blueberries

5/12/12 -- 1) breakfast: spinach / banana / orange / frozen blueberries
2) lunch -- zucchini, garlic, miso, lime juice, avocado, Thai basil, umeboshi vinegar
This was inspired by Yvonne's raw zucchini's soup (May 9) and is destined to be a favourite of mine, even though I don't usually like the taste of raw garlic

5/13/12 -- collard / pear / frozen cranberries

5/14/12 -- Swiss chard / papaya / frozen blueberries

5/15/12 -- kale / mango / frozen cranberries

5/16/12 -- beet greens / parsley / banana

5/17/12 -- 1) morning: collard / pear .....2) supper: baby bok choy / pear / frozen cranberries

5/18/12 -- did not have any greens

5/19/12 -- did not blend my greens (watercress)

5/20/12 -- pkg'd green smoothie (Vegn brand)

5/21/12 -- Swiss chard / pineapple

5/22/12 -- spinach (blended alone with water; I ate my fruit whole)

5/23/12 -- kale / grapes

5/24/12 -- I ate my greens whole

5/25/12 -- morning: pkg'd green smoothie
evening: Shanghai bok choy / pear

5/26/12 -- spinach (alone with water)

5/27/12 -- radish greens / grapes

5/28/12 -- Swish chard / banana

5/29/12 -- did not blend my greens (arugula)

5/30/12 -- no vegetables at all today, apart from frozen fries

5/31/12 -- cooked my greens today; had soup for breakfast including watercress & soya sprouts (yum!); then radish leaves (among other veggies) in my omelet at lunch

As I am updating this on June 14, I have given up on my commitment to have a green smoothie every day. My blender broke on June 7 while I was preparing a spinach smoothie, I made a delicious spinach casserole with the greens and somehow my craving for green smoothies did not come back when I got a new blender. In fact I can see on this post that my commitment started to wane on May 18, which also happens to be the day that I had gone on a 10-day computer-fast.

Thanks for this challenge; because of it, I was able to learn new things about green smoothies and about myself.

Savory Green Soup for lunch: Thanks to Sweetlips for the recipe.

4 stalks of celery with leaves, chopped
1 ripe avocado
1 medium organic cucumber, with skin, chopped (I didn't have organic)
1 lemon, juiced
Handful fresh parsley
1 clove garlic
Pinch Himalayan salt
1 cup water
Blend together until smooth and creamy and enjoy!

It is important we get in a daily supply of greens in our diet. Let's bump up the greens! To participate in this challenge post every day the ingredients you put in your Green Smoothie. It can be a fruity Green Smoothie, a Savory Green Smoothie, a Green Juice, or a Raw Green Soup. You must list your ingredients to qualify for a Team Goodie if you complete the challenge.
