HAHAHA ... I'll take that as a compliment! Altho, I admit I'm about as crazy as a loon once I make up my mind to do something!
This weekend marks the end of my first 12-weeks, so I'm treating myself to 3 days of doing whatever I bleeping well please ... but don't be surprised if you see me logging in exercise here anyway, as I think I might be at the point of actually MISSING IT!

Noticed this thread very late, but print out a weekly summary of my cardio as a motivator. So gradually improving my distance, time, endurance, strength ... averaging 35 min. cardio daily/30 min. strength 3x/wk now. Plus have been adding more variety rotating in different strength workouts, Sansone's WATP cardio; step aerobics ... not to mention doing my second 5k in the past 3 months.

We are at the end of this 10 day challenge. How did you do?
I was way below goal a couple of days. Averaged 53 minutes aerobic exercise daily overall. I did get in my strength training this past week I will work to bring that up in the Jan 21-31 challenge.
In the end, the choice you make makes you.

Not crazy at all, Ginger ... that's part of the whole motivational psychology about sites like SP.
The more active you are, and involved in encouraging other people, the more likely you are to keep to your own goals as well.

Can't remember who started the challenge of walking 1 mile a day...but whoever it was, THANK YOU! It seemed reasonable to me at the time...although I have some kind of mental block when it comes to getting on that treadmill. I want to report that this is my 3rd day in a row...and what really motivated me was I had committed myself to do it and when you give your word to something, you'll feel awful if you don't follow though. Sound crazy? Well, it works for me.

For those of you thinking about getting a pedometer, Amazon has the top rated Omron HJ-112 Digital Premium Pedometer at a very low price of $15.99 thru the 18th. This is the one I use now. (The one I would buy now is the one like it where I can upload data into my computer automatically.)

Hi everyone. Ok...I have been wanting some feedback on how I start with these challenges and now I see that I think what I am suppose to do with you all is to post my days and my activity. So, today is Jan. 16th and I am going to take today and the next 4 days to get into the swing of things here with my walking and my 6 strength training exercises and start on Jan 21 with the next challenge. Does this sound like I know what I might be doing? I did walk my 30 minutes today, 1.48 miles and burned 346 calories, yeah!!! But I want to be a part of this team that gets involved in challenges. So I am going to explore more on the site, look at the nutrition tracker, and get more involved in the food part of it all, and then start with you guys on the next challenge. Yeah...I love this site!!!

Hi guys. Hope it's not too late to join this one. I got side-tracked due to a death in family, but I am more determined than ever to start again.
SOOOOO... goal is to alternate cardio/strength every day for 1 hour (not necessarily all at same time).
You all certainly do motivate me to get off my butt.
Every day is a new beginning!

I am glad to see so many people join in.
You can add together your cardio & strength or keep them separate. Whatever works for you.
I only track minutes of cardio, and count # sets for strength. So it doesn't really add together.
In the end, the choice you make makes you.

Let's keep the momentum going ... or start if you haven't yet. I know I will be back doing strength training more next week when my gym reopens.
Please edit a single post rather than making lots of entries. It is easier for us to read everyone's history this way.
Goal 60 minutes cardio on work days; 90 non-work day. Strength training at least 4 days during this ten days.
Jan 11 70 minute jaunt Jan 12 75 minute morning leisure walk, 20 minutes brisk evening walk Jan 13 120 minute morning walk & run Jan 14 11 minutes on elliptical & strength training ... 2 sets 15 reps each on 12 different machines; tai chi class Jan 15 69 minute walk/run Jan 16 22 minutes on a strange day Jan 17 101 minutes between am walk & elliptical; strength Jan 18 109 minutes total; am walk, elliptical & treadmill ... sustained a jog for a mile Jan 19 112 minutes run and walk; hour gardening Jan 20 58 minutes walking and some gardening
