I found this game (new, with mat) at GameStop for 29.99. The Amazon price for this game is 47.99 used. Be sure to shop around if you are going to buy this game. I think it may be coming up on rare and expensive, like Walk It Out did.

I love this game! I got it for my son last Christmas and it is tough, but in a good way. I was using Wii Fit, but I just didn't feel like I was getting much of a cardio workout. Then my son asked me to play ALE with him and I was sweating within 4 minutes.
I agree, Active Life is really cool. I have two elementary aged boys and I love how this game gets them going. It's a lot of fun to do as a family too. I haven't used it for my exercise time but definetely could. We have both the orginal and the newest version - lucked into the orginal game at Half-Priced books not long after we bought the latest (indiana jones type theme) one with the mat. I like the orginal better but the boys like the newer one better.

I bought my kids Active Life Explorer for Christmas thinking it would be a good way for them to get off the couch and have some nice family competition. Until today, I'd never played it for exercise. I spent an hour on this game today and burned more than 500 calories (according to my Polar FT4). It was so fun, I wanted to keep playing, but got booted off by my 9-year-old so he could play Wipe Out.
I haven't seen this game mentioned here before, but I highly recommend it. It is loads of fun and a heart pumper. It comes with a DDR-Style Mat. And unlike the balance board you can actually jump around on it, and on some of the games you have to jump around on it. There is a story mode so you can play the game kind of like a traditional level by level video game. But I like the Free Play Mode (has to be unlocked but is easy to unlock.) My favorite game is the Crocodile Stomp. I'm not sure, but I think the mat also works with DDR and Walk-It-Out. You can also do 2 player on the games and even more on some.
