Do you think it matters in the short or long run which game I play? I have all but quit playing EA NFL training and UFC training and spend an hr or 2 playing excerbeat each day. The other 2 games are just too much like work and I want to drop dead after 5 min. So, does it matter as long as Im doing SOMETHING? Or do I need to add the harder strength training in?

Like you, I was upset with the price of Exerbeat. I found it at Gamestop for $17, but traded Jillian Michaels and Just Dance 2 it was $2, then a guy gave me his discount card and it was free. I did have to drive 2 hrs round trip to get it, though. I didnt like it t first, but now that I have unlocked a bunch of stuff I LOVE it! Definately worth the trouble of procurring it!

Thanks for the tip. I checked my local GameStop but they don't have a copy. I'll keep checking back, maybe they will get one eventually. In the meantime I think Wii fit and exerbeat will keep me busy. I also have ea sports 2 that I haven't even tried out yet. If anyone is interested, amazon is going to have video game specials all day on Tuesday. Might be worth checking out.

ALESHASMOM - I found Walk it Out at my local Game Stop for $9.99, you might check their website. It isn't available online but if you pull up the game and choose the pick up in store option you can plug in your city or zip and it will tell you the closest store that has it. Might try that.

I found a used one on Amazon for 43.00. That's still alot for one game, but it is a fun game. I've only played it a couple of times, but I really like it. Right now it is giving me a challenge to do everyday. There is another game that I'm looking for called Walk it Out that is very expensive also.

Exerbeat sounds like a lot of fun but I can't find it. Well found on Amazon for way too much and Gamefly to rent but that requires a monthly fee. I checked GameStop and their sister store Electronics Boutique but neither has it, same with their website. Any suggestions??

It gets better once you open up a little more. I usually just use the 'personal trainer' mode, there you put in how long you want to exercise (30 minutes, or whatever) and then it makes a sequence for you. Less clicking and waiting that way.

Sorry to hear that. The more you do the exercises and move around the world, the more exercises it unlocks until eventually you get them all. The boxercise longest one is 52 minutes, the hiphop is 55, the merengue is 29,,, the more you unlock the larger they get, you just have to be patient.

Oh yeah, I forgot; It unlocks a personal trainer portion too as you go along where you can make your own routine with the exercises provided.

Not liking exerbeat emoticon .Slow game and the excercises are so short. The dancing doesn't give goob instruction as to what you are suppose to be doing. I like my UFC and NFL training workouts better...not worth a 2 hr drive!

I got it! Yippy! I had to drive almost 11/2 hrs, but I got it! It was almost $100 emoticon on Amazon and ebay, but game stop had it for 17.99 marked down to 16. I traded in Jullian Michael's crappy game and a vip memeber gave me his discount, so it came to $2.13. The guy had $2.18 left on a card to use and gave it to me...so $100 game for FREE...cant wait to play!

I've gone around the world once. I like the boxercising best because I really get the best workout from it. I also enjoy the salsa dancing. One thing I dislike about the game is that sometimes the moves don't register when I know I'm doing them. This is a great game/workout. I have even started trying out the yoga which isn't as tough as I originally thought.

You do not need a balance board for this game, although you can use one (and my favorite dance is the one that uses it). There are a couple of the latin dances that require the balance board, but there are more that do not. The other parts (aerobics, hip hop, boxercise, karate, yoga/pilates, stretching, party games) do not require the board. In the 'personal trainer mode', it will ask if you want to include the balance board or not, and if not it will leave those dances out.

So, before I spend a fortune of time or money trying to procure a copy of this game, could someone answer me this: I read one review that said you needed a wii board for most of the latin dance games, I hated mine and traded it for a few games! Can I still dancercise without a board?

Wow, that is crazy on Amazon. I love the game, but I wouldn't pay that (I wouldn't pay that for any game, actually). TigerDirect lists is for $20, but it is out of stock. I guess the price is just a matter of supply and demand, possibly it is not being made any more.

I would probably drive the 2 hours and get the used one ... otherwise just keep checking online until someone has one at a better price.

I have read several great reviews on this game and several times I also read it is around $20. Please tell me where to find this game for $20. It can cost $75-$100 on Amazon and if I drive 2 hrs to a far away game store, I can get a used copy for $20. Used on ebay was $50. Why is it sooooo expensive? It only comes with the game!

Yes, I'm not thrilled wiht the aerobics girl -- but I love the latin dance parts. I too am on my second trip around. Boxercising is fun, the mini games are fun. Yoga is a nice break too. Hip Hop is surprisingly okay. Karate doesn't really do it for me.

Our whole family pretty much loves this game. I just finished the first tour around the world, and I had no idea I was so competitive - had to stay ahead of my 3 boys and husband. lol Now i have a crown on my head and the number 1. lol I love the boxercise and it makes me sweat, sweat, sweat...oi! My left shoulder hurts though after doing it daily so I switch off with the latin dance merengue, which make me not be able to walk properly for a couple days because my fatness on the outside of my sides hurts... lol... I can't say enough about this game, we just love it so much. I sure don't favour the aerobics instructor though - just do it!! She's so nasty to me. I try hard to match it and she tells me something is wrong, I don't have enough energy... blah, blah, the other girl in merengue tells me to be sassy, so I am, and I like her much better. lol Maybe I'll work on just the aerobics sometime but for now I have to beat my 18 year old son's score on pizza toss... he got 20... I need to get 21. lol

For anyone who wonders what this game is like I just found this video of gameplay on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQvm8duQJ
XE&feature=related

It lets you see what several of the basic exercises look like even though you can't hear the sound. It really helped me get an idea of what it is. :)

Your scores will get better as you get better at doing the exercises. Unfortunately, you can't stop the around the world thing, but constantly pressing the "A" button on the wii mote makes it go quickly.

I really like my exerbeat, but I can't figure out how to get better scores. It just seems like sometimes it hits and sometimes it doesn't.
Is there a way to stop the around world thing? I was just wondering, I'll keep it up, it's just kind of frustrating.

No,you don't need a new name. Your old one should be right there on the start menu. I know the first time I made it around the world, I thought maybe the game was over, but that wouldn't be much of a selling point. Pam

You have to keep going around the world until they are all opened. It depends some on which exercises you do the most(I still have a couple of yoga and stretching ones that are locked because I don't do those much). When you are going around the world, you don't have to wait until the words are all on the screen to press A. That speeds it up some. Pam

You keep going around the world. But what I do is click on cancel this exercise if I don't care if the score is recorded, that way you can skip the around the world part. Pam

Did some more Exerbeat today. I have all but one boxercise routine open so I was working on opening up some karate and aerobics. Did some yoga at the end to cool down and stretch

Deb,
I didn't think of weighted gloves. I used some handweights from Leslie Sansone, but I do have her weighted gloves too. Will do that tomorrow ;)

I do like the Salsa dancing. Gets the steps in. I am having fun with it and I just keep moving while she talks or I will grab the stretchy band and do some strength training.

I really love this game. Had to slow down on it for a month, rotator cuff issues. Got those straightened out (for now) so am back at it. I love the boxercise and the karate, not crazy about the dance. I don't have much rhythm but I can throw a great punch! Did the boxercise Combat Drill and I wore my weighted gloves. After I took them off my arms seemed to float.

I highly recommend it. I have a lot of games and this has been by far the most entertaining and there's so much variety and the price is so reasonable. Ask Santa maybe he will put it in you're stocking emoticon

It's also touchy with the stretching. It all depends on how you hold the wii mote I think.

The aerobics is a touchy one. I get so frustrated with that exercise because I know I did it right and it misses. I turn the remotes sideways on some of the moves and I double checked the sensor on the TV, thought about moving the sensor from the top of the TV to the bottom but havent done it yet. Im already on my 3rd round around the world I have 2 crowns. Good news is it still unlocks new exercises so you still get surprises. Anybody know how to stop the credits and congrats when you do get to the end? Takes forever for them to congrat you and skim thru the credits. I STILL LOVE THIS GAME and play with it even when I dont have to emoticon I still dont believe the calories burned are accurate would love for it to be true but I have never burned 720 calories in a hour of exercise before in my life. I only give myself credit for 328-350. Good luck and enjoy, do the hip hop and boxing to get more of the feel of the screen and remotes.

It just takes time to figure it out. I am finally getting some of the movements to register, but it does get frustrating to know that you are moving at the right time and always says close. Pam

I tried Exerbeat for the first time yesterday. Do you have any hints/tips on getting it to register my movements? I did the Aerobics warm-up and basic arms and got really low points. I was really getting frustrated.

Then I tried the boxing and did much better, but I need to get points on the aerobics. Thank you for any ideas.

I got my exerbeat a few weeks ago and I am addicted to this game I'm already at the grand canyon and I need to slow down or I wont have any more surprises. I do have a hard time believing the calories burned are accurate. For the life of me I cant pick up the moves for the charger on the wall smasher. The games are hard to move up a level but they sure do keep you going. emoticon

You have to unlock the personal trainer and longer exercises.Just keep doing what you have available and the more minutes and points you get, the longer you can go. It's a little frustrating at first, but you'll love it when you get things going. Pam

Thanks for the tip. I can use that with the Aerobics until I get medal-ready. I do okay with the other dances.

Wow on the swimming. I have 1407 as my high and the rest of my family( when they visited) couldn't get over 350. But they can charge up and I can't. I found out that if you don;t want to do the walk( if you didn't get a high score or don't need to get more things unlocked) you can press the plus after you finish and it will give you options. If you pick " skip this exercise" it goes right back to the menu to do another( of course you didn't really skip it because you just did it). I'm doing that on anything I don't get a high score on( or if someone else has the high score on it). I've been around the world and have all the boxing and karate unlocked and can't do any good on the dancing, except the one with the baland board. I'm trying for a perfect on some of the shorter boxing and karate, then I probably won't do them again, just sstick to the longer ones. Pam

I had a perfect beginner swim today! For the longest time I couldn’t do better than 7%. I slowly improved and got a bronze, then silver medal over the last few weeks. Tonight I really focused on timing the start of the movements and it helped me get that crowned gold!

I still can’t get the charge-up part of Wall Smasher, but I am getting better at fending off pirates.

I’m not doing the Personal Trainer mode much lately. I’m trying to get medals in all the Martial Arts workouts and I think eventually I’ll just do video mode without the Wii-motes.

This is my favorite game.

I really suck at swimming. I'm getting better at the wall smasher. I love the karate, the latin dance and hip hop but am not as crazy about the boxercising. I really enjoy all of the pilates/yoga and stretching.

I use two controllers and really like doing the latin dance with the balance board.

I like to use the personal trainer and set it to a long work out time, then I am committed to finish the workout.

It's easy to figure out. You should have 2 remotes or you only get scored with one hand. I just unlocked the last Karate, an it's a 49 minute workout. I'll do it next week when the family goes home. Pam

I just got mine last week, but due to a funeral in the family have not tried it yet. Reading your posts, I sure hope I'm able to figure it all out. I feel so technologically challenged sometimes! Sounds like it would be a good idea for me to get another remote.

I'm on my second time around. I like to use both remotes and mainly do longer karate or boxing I get good scores on those and with the weighted gloves, I feel like I'm getting a workout. I can't master the karate forms, I ordered some books from the library to try to help. I'd love to be able to do them. I do the daily challange and set the weekly challange at 30 min. I'm trying to get gold medals or with crowns( perfect score) on the boxing and karate. I'm still enjoying it and my 9 yr ol Grandson is here an he loves it too. Pam

I am still a lead sinker lol I have no clue what is up with that lol The wall smasher I stink at too. The karate I get 100 % most of the time but I took karate so the moves are the same as the one I took. I think that is my fav part. Today I took off from doing it because my arms are sore lol and plus my shoulder is irritated so I have to be careful. Good Luck and enjoy love to hear more on your progress. HUGS

I finished for the second time today.

I usually do the Today’s Challenge followed by a Personal Trainer workout. Then I try to earn a few medals by doing individual exercises. I’ve got the most in martial arts. I created a My Exercises routine that only has exercises that I got gold for.

I had been trying hard to become a “swimmer“; I couldn‘t get better than 8% for a long time. I’ve finally improved. This was a good week - in addition to finishing, I got a bronze medal for 70% for Swimming at the beginner level and a 299 Boxercising combo. Now I want to master the charge-up part of Wall Smasher and get medals for some of the longer exercises.

We don't use the balance board at all. I did try it with both remotes and it was fun that way also. My hubby and I like to make it into a competition to see who can beat who its fun and we always end up laughing trying to do it lol We love this game so much and I am so glad to have found it. We had such a hard time finding it.

You only need 1 remote, but 2 is better so you can track both hands. The balance board is for one of the latin dances, you don't need it, but it's a fun dance. Pam

My hubby and I love it. I use to take karate so that isn't so difficult for me I don't do much of the leg movements because of my back but I love the whole game my hubby and I love to compete against each other even though he beats me in the pizza toss and wall smash along with the swimming. We do have a few unlocked on the karate and all the pizza toss ones the pirate one neither one of us have done good on it. It is great game and I will have to start using my weighted gloves also I use them for cardio gold. HUGS

I'm trying to get everything unlocked. I do the daily challange( usually fail, but that's ok) and I set my weekly challange at 30 min. so I can set a new one every day and get more points. I love the karate, but when he starts moving his feet, I can't keep up( even ordered a karate tape to try to help me). Love the pirate attack, but haven't unlocked the harder ones yet. I wear weighted gloves to give a little resistance when I work out( as opposed to playing like I was just now). I'll go back to My Fitness Coach when the weather gets cool because I think it's a better aerobic workout, but now when I can swim and walk too, I love the Exerbeat game. Pam
