I am actually not doing that good right now since I definitely exercise enough but am lucky when I eat 1 meal a day which is actually making me gain weight. What I need to do is eat my 3 square meals a day and maybe 2 snacks and continue with the exercise.
Very, very slowly! Everyday I think it will get faster because I control myself more. I have not solved this problem, but I won't give up. For awhile I was losing 10 lbs. a year. Could be better but at least I was losing. My doctor is delighted with 1 lb. per week. I am absolutely convinced that losing quickly is not smart. I have read often lately that only reducing 500 cal. per day is the best way. That is 1 lb. a week just like my doctor said. Gee-maybe he got something right! I usually give him a hard time because I read so much on the Internet. Another way is eat 250 cal. less a day and increase exercise by 250 cal.
Oh--and y doctor said to add a zero to my present weight to tell how many calories I am eating now to maintain. that is about 2500 per day to maintain! So I can lose weight eating 2000 cal. per day! If I lose weight, of course the cal. need to go down, too.
The move is DONE. A big goal met! But selling the "old" condo has been a rough ride. I am dealing with problems and have to be diligent about caring for myself. Hoping not eating gluten/sugar will help my mood, pain, energy level. GOAL: Reduce A1C,BP,tryglicerides,and weight. HOW? Low carb plan with lots of veggies and water aerobics at least 3X week. I was doing this but moving stress has halted my good habits. Time to get this going again. I am worth it.
