Start slow and make a real mind shift:
Every time you vacuum - count it as exercise
Every time you flip the mattress - count it as exercise
Every time you carry groceries from the car to the house - yup!! Exercise AND upper body strength training thrown in for good measure!
So - to start slow - park your car at the far end of the super market parking lot (during the daylight hours, of course - I don't recommend this practice after dark).....and walk to and from the store to the car.....yup! Exercise!!
Build your walking times as your body tells you that you can handle it - you don't want to cause injury by going out like gang busters all at once.....so take it slow....
But - making the mind shift that you are already are getting exercise in the routine things you do every day somehow gives 'permission' to do more because all of a sudden the realization hits: "that was easy - 17 minute walk? Piece o' cake - I can handle that!"
Your body will urge you to do more when it's ready to do more, so be sure to listen to that little voice that says "I feel great today"......that's your body telling you it's healing and getting more energy!!
