didn't do so well today, in any area. Husband was in the hospital, I did nothing correctly nor honestly did I think about the challenge. On a good note, I walked almost 2 miles back and forth, back and forth........I did eat a handful of raw broccoli when I finally got home.

been doing well with the fruit and veges, today has been asparagus, (lots of it) strawberries and blackberries and an orange. I also had some peppers and onions.

I exercised alot today. I got to the gym and did an hour of fat burner on the treadmill. Then went grocery shopping! I came home and took a few Christmas decorations down and packed it all away and hauled it to the attic.

Spark Goodies going out as soon as I am finished with this.

What I like about myself - I am a nurturer may nature. I love to take care of everyone in my world.

Been doing good!! Yay!! Congrats to everyone!! emoticon emoticon

It sounds like we are all making it through the holidays!! Hopefully healthier than last year!! I know my has been so much healthier than last year!!


#1 - Thanks to freeze dried fruits and veggies from Trader Joe's and Target and Banana and Baby Spinach Smoothies for breakfast I am getting my freggies!!

#2 - Spark goodies sent!! emoticon

#3 - I love that I naturally see the bright side of things and that I have a lot of compassion fro others, the down side to this is it can tend to make me a bit of a cry baby! So don't watch sad or inspiring movies with me without Kleenex, but if you ever need someone to cry with I'm your girl!!!

#4 - Yesterday I did about 10 minutes of strength exercises and today I played Wii Just dance 4 with my babygirl again for about 45 minutes emoticon

emoticon I'm still with you, but am running out of fruits and veggies! emoticon and haven't had money to shop. We are going to Billings on New Year's eve day so we will stock up then. emoticon My husband wants to do a low carb diet for 6 weeks so that means cutting down on fruits, emoticon but loading up on veggies! emoticon
I went to McDonald's today and had the fruit and nut salad. I had apple juice at breakfast and fried(I know, I know) potatoes with lunch and for dinner I plan on having Fettuccini & Spinach pasta in a parmesan cheese sauce with dinner. emoticon
I've sent some Sparkgoodies today.
One thing I love about me? I guess today my perserverence. I use to give up easily, but I'm working on that and more determined to follow through on things.

What do I love about me today? hmmm.... I love how I motivate my friends and family. I was thanked repeatedly this past month.

Snowshoed for almost an hour yesterday. Not feeling the best today. Colds and the flu going around. Must be my evening of rest.

We're having a blizzard here in Indy. I decided last night NOT to go for a walk today (I need RebofKeldon's snowshoes...lol!)

I ate a double serving of oatmeal w/ cut up emoticon , some almond milk and cinnamon. It makes me feel warm and cozy.

Plan today: Spark a bit, send some goodies. Make a healthy lunch: homemade soup with baby spinach, white beans, low-sodium chicken broth, brown rice. Then do some cardio and strength training for 1-2 hrs. using Spark and my own DVD's. Dinner...not sure yet, but I will get in some more veggies! And sip on my new teas from the health food store: almond oolong (boosts metabolism) and earl grey with a bit of lemon.

Woke up this morning knowing that it is going to be a fantastic day! Great day for a walk. Twenty three degrees, clear, and calm. Told myself I only HAD to do ten minutes. Did sixteen! emoticon We have been blessed by a snow storm, so I got out my snowshoes for this afternoon. Stuck them right by the door.

I'll peel some carrots to take with me for snacking. Preparing ahead of my hunger is a big step for me.

Sent a goodie to another member.

I am proud of taking control of my life. It shows that I appreciate and LOVE me!

today was definitely a busy day!

I had chocolate chips instead of lettuce
I had an apple and some blackberries
I had 2 cookies instead of carrots and broccoli........hmmmm I'm having a tough eating day for sure! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I did exercise for about 60 minutes, I may have done more if all of the oven bending and arm bending to "test" the goods counts. emoticon

I like my sense of humor emoticon

Too busy for breakfast, but I ate a couple chocolate covered pretzels I made this morning. Had a quick lunch (no veggies). I was so tempted to eat fast food tonight while we were out, but we stopped at the (packed) grocery store before they closed for Christmas Eve. I chose a small frozen pizza with fire-roasted veggies. I added some chicken and feta to it. Overdid my calories and sodium some today but it was still a little better choice than a burger and fries.

Preparing to send out a goodie or two.

Loving Thought: I'm an encourager to others.

I have had some emoticon , will probably have some raisins and maybe some emoticon with dinner.
I've sent some Sparkgoodies and the thing I love about me is my optimism.I'm usually able to look at the bright side of things(sometimes with my husband's help emoticon )

OK, I know its a little late in the challenge, but I need it! Christmas, New Years and my hubby's b-day all before this challenge is over!!

#1 - Got them in thanks to Indygirl's suggestion of freeze dried fruits and veggies for snacks!

#2 - I'll be doing that next! (I agree that will definitely be the most fun part of the challenge!)

#3 - Hmm (most difficult part) I love that I am very resourceful :)

#4 - WELL...I am sitting on the couch in my pj's trying to decide if fighting the holiday shopping crowds counts as exercise... hmm.... I think not, I'll get that done before the day is out - done! emoticon

I haven't checked in, but I'm doing the challange emoticon
Today I sent some Sparkgoodies, I have had a emoticon at breakfast , a fruit and nut salad at McDonald's at lunch, and I just had some raisins.I need to get some veggies. Maybe I'll munch some emoticon and I will have some emoticon with dinner.
I guess what I love about myself is my generous nature. I truly love to give people things that make them happy and I love being able to help out if someone needs a hand.I just don't really like to toot my own horn about it.

Good evening. I spent atleast twenty minutes shoveling snow and hauling firewood. I love that I am a hard worker and strive to live with the land. I sent a spark goodie with a note. Thank you for pushing me to participate everyday with others on the same journey. I have ate two servings of veggies. If I do munch on anything else tonight I will make it a fruit. emoticon

Kathy~ that is so cool about the baby calf! I have a dream of having a small farm someday. Right now I'm content with a few chickens and couple turkeys here in the city.

I feel a lot better today and plan to Blast and Tone with Richard Simmons again. Had this DVD for years, but this 30 min. workout is fun, yet challenging. I want to go on at least a 2 mile walk today, but it's cold and rainy. If the rain stops, I may still go.

Sending out goodies (I think I was too tired last night). That's my favorite part of the challenge.

Loving thought: I like my eyes. They're my favorite feature on my face.

I am still in the challege, just been too busy to check in (we got a new calf & been a little busy with it and other farm chores--which means more physical activity--yay)

Mon~10 min strength/30 min cardio
Tues~20 min strength/30 min cardio
Wed~20 min strength
Thur~20 min strength/10 min cardio +more planned this evening

Connie~ that's great about your breakthrough at the gym. Carol, I'm so excited for you. Have fun in the Bahamas.


I was super busy today. Usually I track all day long on the computer, but today I just made quick notes. I experimented with two recipes for soups. For lunch, I made a broccoli parsley soup that used a bit of emoticon milk (the cream part) as the base. It tasted better than the condensed version in a can (and less salt to boot).

Had a half-PB sandwich with sliced emoticon for a pick me up snack. Tonight I made this awesome green curry coconut chicken soup. Here's the recipe I added to Spark: http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-deta

Had fresh basil and emoticon , and curry sauce had emoticon (my fave).

Going to send a spark goodie before bedtime. No exercise today but will double up tomorrow. (My abs are killing me from yesterdays exercise routine...had to use a hot water bottle)

Loving thought: I'm becoming a more creative cook and trying new things.

So glad I am in the challenge. Would not have logged into Sparkpeople had I not had the team waiting. So BIG thank you! Ten minutes of walking in this morning. Lacking on fruit and veggies. Going to go to kitchen and prepare three more servings of vegetables. Leaving on small road trip with friend. I will have plenty of time to read Spark Book. Thanks for the challenge and good sense ideas on keeping on track through the holidays. I have met the challenge by getting in at least 10 minutes of walking since Monday. Today I did 20+ minutes and I plan is to get out this afternoon too..Soon we will have snow and I'm hoping to make those treks on my snowshoes.

I'm struggling with the fruits and veggies now that it is winter but plan to put more effort in to that, especially when faced with buffets, the veggie tray will get top priority.

I like my positive and usually up beat attitude.

I'm late to the challenge, but I accept! Been crazy busy. I'm substituting for a school janitor right now. Tomorrow is my last day. Talk about a workout! I haven't done that kind of physical labor in a while. emoticon Wish I knew how to track that! Had Pumpkin Spice Banana Oatmeal for breakfast/lunch and a big Taco Salad for dinner w/ a handful of baby spinach/arugula/red cabbage, sm. tomatoes. etc. It was filling and good.

Gave out goodies earlier and did a lot of walking, stretching and toning today.

What I love about myself: I am developing a strength that doesn't sway, yet isn't so inflexible that I cannot be taught or work out problems. (this is after so many years of being a man-pleaser)
