We get a lot of our recipes from spark like veggie chili, slow cooker salsa chicken, roasted veggies, slow cooker lasagna, slow cooker marinara chicken just to name a few and sometimes we even make these recipes healhier by changing the beef to turken or chicken and what not. We use a lot of black beans, brown rice and whole wheat also. You would be surprised how much more satisfied you feel when you start eating healthier.

I subscribe to some blogs and places on Pinterest but my main ones are mommyhatescooking.com, shrinkingkitchen.com, 5dollardinners.com, plainchicken.com, skinnyms.com, and skinnymom.com then also Skinny Slow Cooker on Facebook :) Some aren't so healthy but I make them healthy or add more veggies and such :)
I get lots of my recipes from Clean Eating magazine and online, Oxygen magazine and online, Dr. Fehrman books and online, along with the American Diabetes Association publications and Prevention magazine and cookbooks. In addition, I have many hours of RDA and School Nutrition education under my belt, and I write many of my own recipes based on a primarily vegetable and fruit based diet. I have been teaching basic nutrition for many years through the state extension service but not as a nutritionist. Having worked in preschool and special education programs, we are required to pass testing on our knowledge of nutrition for children. I have and continue to teach children with Autism, and it was very popular a few years ago for parents to insist on wheat free, gluten free, dairy free diets. We had to be able to plan menus that met nutrition needs of growing children and meet the criteria of gluten and dairy free. Plus I have a dairy allergic grand daughter, and she has been an education for the last 12 years. She cannot eat or even touch a dairy product. So lots of recipe creation practice.
