I know it's a bit strange.... but I got a new set of undergarments because all of my size 11s and one 12 were too big on me. I've now got polka dot size 10s! But I can wear a size 9, it's just more comfortable to wear 10s.

I took my daughter out for lunch earlier this week at a restaurant of her choice since it was her B.D. She decided on going to the pancake house...I was a little nervous about her selection but I went and had a good time chatting with her. I ordered a spinach egg omelet that came with a small fruit salad. I had my coffee and that was it for me. I was very happy and satisfied. On the other hand, my daughter had 3 pancakes, along with a big steak and eggs. My meal was about 320 calories, and my daughter's meal was well over 1000 calories.

Wearing clothes that I could not wear for two years. I think they are about two sizes smaller in clothes than when I started SP. I am feeling so so healthier and not as much pain in my lower back.

I have diabetes and was on oral meds and insulin 4 times a day. I have only lost 32 pounds total (29 since SP) but am now completely off my daytime insulin, only taking oral meds and my nightime insulin (This is necessary as its a liver issue at night). I was told that losing just 10% of your body weight would make a difference and it has. My blood pressure is much better too because of exercise. Just having one less medication to take is a huge victory!

I CATERED A POOL PARTY FOR 20 PEOPLE AND MADE EVERY ITEM FROM SCRATCH. NO ONE KNEW THEY WERE EATING HEALTHY FOOD AND I DIDN'T BRING A SINGLE BITE BACK HOME - THEY ATE IT ALL. I WON'T TELL THEM IT WAS HEALTHY UNLESS SOMEONE ASKS. I COULDN'T HAVE DONE ANY CATERING 2 YEARS AGO AND I SO LOVED DOING IT. I've been getting a little frustrated because I haven't been losing any weight according to the scales. I have quit eating out and am eating at home more. I trying to watch my carbs very closely. I'm making tea instead of drinking soda. And I'm not losing any weight. I live in an apartment and have a dog that I have to take walking several times a day. My apartment's name is Southern Slope for a reason. I have to walk up a hill every time I leave my apartment and down a hill every time I come home. I have got to noticing that my shirts are fitting a lot looser around my lower abdomen, you know, where the "spare tire" is. I haven't measured, so I couldn't tell you how many inches, but I have noticed that my 3X T-shirts are just hanging now instead of clinging. I have also notice a slight decrease in my blood sugar readings from in the 150's at night to the 120's. So apparently waling up and down that hill several times a day is paying off!!!

WHEN I HAVE A GOOD DR'S APPOINTMENT AND HE IS HAPPY WITH MY PROGRESS, I TEND TO SABOTAGE MYSELF AND LAX OFF THE EATING AND EXERCISE A LITTLE. THIS TIME I DIDN'T DO THAT. AND INSTEAD OF WEIGHING THIS WEEK AND SEEING THE SCALE MOVE BUT NOT SEEING A DIFFERENCE IN MY CLOTHING, I TRIED TAKING MEASUREMENTS INSTEAD AND FOUND MY WAIST IS DOWN 2 1/2 INCHES!

I was able to walk a trail in the Rocky Mountain National Park with my friend. It was the greatest afternoon - for the first time in longer than I can remember, it wasn't my fitness level that took my breath away - it was the sight of the majestic peaks and sharing it with my friend.

My non-scale victory today is that my brother is in surgery for a liver transplant and I AM NOT STRESS EATING!!!!
I'm working hard to be healthy and I'm doing it for me and for my family!

i have WAY more energy and strenght compared to last year. I get more stuff done. I take better care of myself - eat better, better hygiene, better clothes, etc.
I still get tired but NOTHING compared to last year at all. more flexible. more stamina. more patient (sometimes).

Oh such timing for this thread. I am struggling to get out of the 150's. I have lost a total of 96.3 pounds since 2/2011 Someone calculated that I have lost 1.28 lbs a week since I started to lose weight. While I did not lose all my weight with SP. I want to reach that 100 pound loss so bad and it has eluded me for over a month and I am getting frustrated.
My NSV's are self esteem has risen---down 3 pant sizes.--went for a 1x bathing suit to a M---less pain in my knees, I have OA--less pain in my back--stronger and more energy--I was just discharged last week from PT because I met every single goal.

We tend to think that we are doing great if the scales go down – but there are other things that are as important if not more important than the scales – these are what we call NSV (non-scale victories)
For many of us these are a necessary, though often forgotten important part of claiming backs our lives, and or freedom!! Things like being able to breathe better, wanting to do things we used to avoid, going to bed tired at night, getting a good night’s sleep and waking ready and eager for the next day. There are so many things you might notice are changing as you get fitter and more toned.
Let’s record these NSVs each week as we notice them, no matter how small - and let’s celebrate these as an important part of our journey.
