Congratulations for finishing the run and doing as well as you did (despite the weather and other conditions). I always liked 13.1 Marathons. Just long enough to challenge, but doesn't require as much and as long training as full marathons.

I've been training 4 months for this! In April, my 10K had one goal: finish without walking. Did it. But it was 81 minutes (not bad for a guy 52 years old and 230 pounds).
Goal of all this training: to beat 65 minutes. I've done it in training. But in a race you never know the terrain or weather. But it's been a success regardless! Plus I've lost 12 pounds getting ready!
Next: 1/2Marathon in 2:30 or better December 11th (and loosing 19 more pounds!)
