I'm still in. I expected my period 1-2 days ago, so I POAS this morning, but it was negative.

Did anyone else notice their cycle change lengths when they started TTC? I went from 28 days to 27 days as I got older, but last month was our first month TTC, and it was 30 days.

Well, once again I'm out this month. AF showed up yesterday.

It's hard not to be really discouraged, especially when people keep making comments. I had an upset stomach last night (largely due to cramps from AF showing up) and someone said, "are you sure it's not morning sickness, lol". Yes, I'm sure. Thanks for rubbing in the fact that I'd love for it to be just that. I know she didn't mean anything by it, but it still hurts.

As MoonManson said a week ago, or so, "Whammy." Got AF a few days ago. I'm so disappointed! There were enough things that happened this month that were different from the first two months that I thought, "This could really be it." It's only the third month TTC, but it's still frustrating! Oh well, tomorrow brings us to a new month!

Fergie that's awesome, congratulations!

MrsDrop, I'm sorry you're feeling bummed....but if you're under 35 I think the general rule is if you try a year with no luck that's when you go in for the "talk" with your ob/gyn. I can't imagine though, that must be so tough.....hang in there!! I agree with Susanna37 though, if you would feel better GO :)

I guess I'm now a September hopeful....husband and I just started trying this month, which per my cycles means this last week. Hopefully I'll be an October Hopeful/success.

I don't have any official advice on when is good for testing, but I do know that it's too early to worry. I'm in my third month TTC also. I'm only a year younger than you, and at my annual exam last month, the doctor told me only to come back in in six or nine months because she wasn't concerned. Of course, if you are truly concerned and have the resources for doctor's appointments, you can go just to put your mind at ease.

I know what you mean though. I half-expected to be pregnant in July the instant I went off my pills, and was disappointed it didn't happen. emoticon

Hey everyone. I guess I'm not technically a September hopeful, but AF is due about October 1st or 2nd. This is our third month TTC and I guess I'm just getting a little down about the whole thing. Making the decision to finally start trying felt so momentous and even though we told ourselves that it might not happen right away, but I guess in the back of my mind I thought it would. My best friend and my sister-in-law both hit it on the first try.

So anyway, I've got about a week to wait left and I'm just not at all hopeful. I am 30 and my husband is 32 and I'm just wondering how early is too early to do testing to make sure nothing is wrong. We know we'd like several kids and I can't help feeling like the clock is ticking.

I'm so happy to see that someone posting in this thread got pregnant. This is our second month trying. Last month, I had all these symptoms, but maybe it was all in my head. Glad to know that sometimes it's not.

IBTINK asked about at-home insemination. I've read tricks like putting a diaphragm or menstrual cup with semen in it, so that the semen is right next to the cervix. I have thought about it, but I haven't tried yet. Sex is more fun.

Thanks for the website. I'm sure I'm going to be checking it a lot when my time comes!

Speaking of, I only had a tiny bit of bleeding last week, which is very different than my usual polyp-related spotting. If my cycle is regular now (which who knows if it is or not), I could be due for AF soon. I even took a test last week, but it was too early to take, and I knew it. Even if I don't get AF this week, I think I should wait until I test again. I keep thinking "maybe it was implantation bleeding!"

Would love to know about this too IBTINK. I've been wondering about that same thing since I think it would be less expensive than going somewhere.

safefetus.com has a list of approved drugs. it has a rating system that I think is from the fda.

Has anyone ever tried at home insemination (like would happen in same sex couples)? Just curious. I've read this works well for low sperm counts.

Congrats! From my research, even a faint positive (as long as it's not an evaporation line, which would be gray and not colored) is a positive. Best of luck!

Not sure about the cough drops, sorry!

Congratulations, Freggie!!

I might be pregnant as well. I had a faint positive on a test today (I was due for my monthly on the 20th). However, I thought for sure I was getting my monthly, since I had spotting & cramps leading up to this like I usually do with my monthly. I suppose it could have been the whole implantation cramps/spotting thing, but it really didn't seem like that!

I think I'm going to take another test Tuesday when I'm home, before making an appointment with my Dr. Of course this craziness happens when I'm out of town with family for a wedding! ;) I'm trying not to be too excited in case it was a false positive.

Ahhhh! Anyways, does anyone know if it's alright to take fisherman's friend (cough lozenges) when pregnant? I'm sick at the moment (at the beginning, trying to fight it off), but my throat is killing me! Thanks!

Thanks for all the support everyone, esp LC.

13DPO. Still negative POAS. I know it's early, but since my normal luteal phase had been 9 days, I'm getting a little antsy. Going to the MD today to see if there's anything wrong we can rule out now. Kills me, made the appointment for the short luteal phase, but now it seems like a regular luteal phase. Oh, bother.

Printed out my FF charting....and it really looks like we should have had success otherwise. Perfect timing every time. *sigh*

And on top of it, nervous as all get out, as my preceptor for my internship is out sick, and I am teaching her first level class for the first time ALL BY MYSELF. Acccccckkkkkk!!

And, on top of everything else, trying to buy a house!

Congrats on your BFP, Freggie! Wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months!!

As for me... I'm sort of an unusual hopeful this month. I've been hopeful to see AF after my D&C I had a little over 4 weeks ago. Well, being hopeful worked and AF came today!! I know that's the opposite kind of excitment that this page is for, but I'm so happy that everything is officially behind me and I can start being normal and moving on and getting to the next TTC. And I got my blood tests back yesterday from the doctor and while I have a lot of things I have to do differently next time (more progesterone and sooner, baby aspirin, daily shots while I'm PG because I learned I'm a carrier for a blood clotting disorder that can cause MC's, and quadruple the amount of folic acid than I have been taking) I'm still really excited and super optimistic. Third time's a charm, right? It better be or else I might go crazy emoticon

Congrats Freggie! Sorry a little late to the party, worked *allll* day yesterday.

BFN this morning but did a little research and at 11DPO CBE has a crap success rate...might be hitting the drug store today.

But.....

Made it past 9DPO!! No whammies! (My husband thinks I am crazy for equating 'no spotting' to 'no whammies' but hey, it gets me through!) emoticon Yay, almost to an acceptable luteal phase!!

Gurrr23: Maybe you should visit your doctor. My friend got pregnant, and her hpt showed negative up until her third trimester. A blood test would be more acurate.

Sorry for the disappointments for you ladies. Nothing new with me either, but my somewhat unpredictable cycle means that that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Actually now that I think about it, I'd normally be spotting by now (due to polyp), so maybe the fact that I'm not is a sign? *Shrug* I know this is the hopeful thread, but I'm trying to keep it reasonable so I don't get carried away. And I'm WAY hungry today, but that's due to my morning workout. Best to all! emoticon

46 days since my last period and negative hpt!?!? I tested on Saturday with 2 different brands (the DH's idea). I have had really bad lower back pain and had some side cramping. Anyone have a similar story? Getting really frustrated and just want AF or positive hpt!!!

Sorry to hear that, Boxer. I have been crossing my fingers all day that no spotting would come. So far so good. Hoping at least to have a decent-er luteal phase....and perhaps that BFP. Do you track?

Kind of a disappointment - I really do think that we fertilized, and started to implant...and then it didn't stick. I spotted for over a week before my period came, and then once my period started I had another week of bleeding/'residual' spotting. That just doesn't happen to me - I don't bleed for two weeks like that.

At least nature is somewhat kind to us in that it's only a matter of days after AF's arrival that we can try again ..

bleh!

Good luck FREGGIE!

and I agree with GIGERNREZNOR. I am 13 weeks now and I am always waiting and looking forward to the next OB appointment. I have never been this anxious to go to the doctor in my life! I hope this is the month you make it to the next "waiting game"!

I'm guessing tomorrow morning you'll be good, so fingers crossed for you Freggie :)

I am so confused as to when to test. Ovulated the 8th, have had a recently short luteal phase of 9 days, every resource I've checked has given me a different day to test! Ovulated CD15 this time instead of CD18 so I've no idea what to do, but just hoping I wake up tomorrow morning with no signs of AF, as that'l be 9DPO!

That would be awesome, FREGGIEQUEEN. Fingers crossed!!
I don't have a good feeling about this month for myself, though I won't officially know for another week and a half. Based on a couple of indications, I'm thinking that I may have an issue with low progesterone. I go to a naturopath dr. and plan to address it with her at my appointment next week.

The DH and I had a rough time trying to concieve this month. I will know by Wednesday whether or not we had any luck, but I am already having my normal PMS symptoms. We have two more months to TTC before we will have to pause our trying. Becuase I teach, I don't want to try and have a baby during August, September, or October. Those first few months of school are very critical.

Hope the rest of you are having some luck this month!

May or may not have had an implantation dip then spike this morning. Fingers crossed. 7 DPO. Just again, hoping to make it past 9DPO. A BFP would be great, but a cooperative luteal phase would at least be comforting.

And still with this greasy nose here too, Freggie, and I've got a wedding to go to today!

Freg: Don't get discouraged just yet. I know the waiting sucks, but here's a thought--that feeling isn't going to end after you get a BFP, unfortunately. Ive been in waiting mode hell for 4 weeks just waiting for my 1st appt haha and it won't end there. Then I'll be dying till our 2nd appt 4 wks later when I'll finally feel some relief since I'll be in the 2nd tri. Sorry, not trying to compare situations but just trying to let you see that the waiting game never ends. Right now I also have very few symptoms which makes this waiting even worse for me, esp after my missed MC in Dec that also gave me NO symptoms. I think what you have to take away from this is undying patience and perseverance. Don't give up hope--ever and STAY POSITIVE:)))

Moon - mine has too, since yesterday! Sigh.

Anyway, I caved and took a test last night since I'm heading to an amusement park today. I was only 9 dpo, so of course it was a BFN. But now my "symptoms" have subsided, and I feel discouraged . . .

I wouldn't waste your HPT unless you're that anxious or are positive about the dates. That's pretty early to test. They say that the First Response tests can detect the hormone in your urine up to 6 days before, but that's not always accurate. Good luck!!

I'm feeling less "maybe pregnant" today, aside from being bloated (but I had a lot of yummy beans at lunch). But I'm alright, taking each day as it comes. If it doesn't happen this round, it'll be okay - especially since we move into our new house the end of the month, and I won't be much help if I'm newly pregnant!

Of course, I want to be pregnant. :) But I'm not letting my mind drive me crazy today! What will be will be.

Susanna- (and I'll be posting all day, I have a day off from everything I'm doing!) I use the CBE digital OPKs as there is something that feels so me about getting a smiley face when you're ovulating.

I use them in the morning and have had seemingly correct results. They're kind of pricey (I buy on Amazon), but I think well worth the investment, especially if your cycles are so irregular.

I've got kind of a crazy cycle, Moonmanson. Before I went on BC (as a teenager) I would sometimes have three periods a year. I've only been off of it since July, and I *think* I've had two periods, but I ALSO have a polyp (that will not hinder conception/pregnancy) that makes me bleed at roughly weeks two and again later in week 3. I keep track of when I bleed, but I can't always say with confidence which kind of bleeding it was. I had a regular annual exam recently and they told me I can use OPK, or not, and I haven't yet.

What time are you doing your OPK? Depending on the test, some recommend early AM, but some recommend between 10 a and 8p, with at least 4 hours without voiding before.

I would recommend if you're not on it, to join fertility friend; the OPK's are nice, but it will look at your temps and all your other signs & symptoms and show you a clearer picture of your fertile time and when you likely O'd.

Maybe you just missed your time window to catch your LH burst, it happens.

Freggie-good luck, the waiting is the hardest part!

I'm so confused! I've been tracking all the signs to figure out my exact ovulation day-temp, fluid, & using an OPK. I thought all was lining up but now I'm just confused. I can't seem to get a positive OPK and am puzzled by the other signs now because the temp is not doing what I expected it would. DH and I have done all we can do and I'll keep tracking these things and wait and see... I don't want this process to be a roller coaster of up and down emotions, so I will do my best to maintain perspective and move on!

FREGGIEQUEEN-hope these are good signs for you. I would be thinking the same thing!

This may be TMI, but for the past day or two, I've had:

* Sore and sensitive nipples
* Little sharp aches in my lower abdomen/back here and there
* A tiny bit of cramping
* Random headaches
* A deep hunger (and the desire to eat every food I smell walking down the street)
* Achiness (almost like getting the flu last night, with a chill-like sensation)
* Breaking out on my forehead - I never break out anymore!
* Face feeling really warm and flushed

Now, I'm probably just wanting this so much that I'm reading these signs as something they're not, but I just wanted to share. I think I ovulated sometime around the 5th or 6th, so it's probably too early anyway!

Sigh.

You've got it, Susanna...

I stopped the pill a few months ago and it's been driving me batty, but I think I might be at least on a regular schedule.

How long are your cycles? Most tests suggest you start at about day 6 of your cycle. This month, I put it off a few days because I had been positive at CD 18, but this time I had my positive at CD 15 so this month so I see why they tell you to test earlier.

Good luck to you!

OK, so I've checked out some of the threads here. I take it this is just the thread to say, "I'm hoping to be pregnant this month"? If so, yes, I am hoping. I've been off BC for two months, but my cycle wasn't very regular before I went on pills (twelve years ago), so it's hard to know what to expect. I got some ovulation tests from a newly-pregnant friend, but I know it's too early to use them for this month. I'm heading to the gym tomorrow morning since I missed it this morning. Good luck to everyone!

My boss had her baby this morning - I'm so so happy for her, but also really jealous . . . anyone else get like this? I'm only on my first cycle of trying! The ovulation calculators put me between the 4th and 12th or so. We've been BDing frequently this past week (at least every other day, and one time two days in a row because I think I had some egg white CM on the 5th - tmi?). I'm already starting to read every little cramp or lower back tinge or headache or tiredness as a sign that things went well, but I also know that I'm probably making it all up. This should be fun, right? I just want it so much! :-/

GURRR23 - If AF isn't due until Tuesday, it's entirely possible you got a false negative. Your HGC really increases after AF is due. So be patient (I know, it feels impossible!) and try again Wednesday or Thursday if AF hasn't arrived. Your much more likely to get an accurate result! Good luck!

I've been using fertilityfriend.com to track my BBT and its showing that I have an extremely long cycle. I'm on day 37 and AF is supposed to come on Tuesday. I took an HPT this morning and it was negative. Any ideas? Anyone else experience this?

Totally in for this month.

For the last 2 cycles, have been tracking like a mad woman. The cycle before that, I just used OPK's. Historically, based on the OPK's and temp, CM, etc, O was on the 18th. I had been suspicious of signs the last few days, and this morning got my positive on the OPK.

Now, this isn't really a big deal; a positive OPK on the 15th means maybe ovulation today or tomorrow.

How I am seeing this, however, is possibly a harbinger that my luteal phase may right itself if I am ovulating earlier. That'd be really nice.

And it's cute since today is our wedding anniversary :) Six years as Mr. & Mrs.

Either way, I have an appt with a new OB/GYN on the 21st to see if there's anything wrong with me other than I am a little tweaky about the whole thing.

Hoping, yet again, for the end of the month!

Baby dust to everyone! emoticon

BOXER: Maybe the very light bleeding/spotting is implantation bleeding? You might want to give your body a few days and then retake a pregnancy test. After Implantation, the pregnancy hormone HCG doubles about every 2-3 days. The more HCG, the more likely you will have a BFP!

Wishing you the best of luck! Please keep us updated!

The DH and I only had a couple successful rounds during my fertile zone, so I am really not sure that we will be successful this month. About 10 days and we'll know for sure!

I got my DH's SA results yesterday and although the motility is still low the other things that was low in November is now in the normal range so we are now playing the waiting game. I am still waiting for my test results to see if I did in fact ovulate this cycle. Today is supposed to be day 1 of new cycle and I have my Chlomid for this cycle if it decides to happen. I have been feel nauseous off and on for the last week or so and sometimes it is really bad. I don't really want to get my hopes up but there is a part of me that is thinking maybe, just maybe my luck has turned around. I will keep you posted on whether my cycle starts or not in the next few days. I am usually pretty regular so I should know within the next 2 days.

Amanda I.

Couldn't stand it. No AF today, so I took a test. Negative. Maybe I'm off on my ovulation day. We'll see what the next few days bring. Still have very very light spotting. Why have I been spotting for a week?! Only twice did it even get onto a liner.

Now I really wish I had been tracking my temps. Bleh!

I ave a feeling in the pit of my stomach that I will be out this month. The DH and I are not having the best luck trying this month. About 2 weeks and I'll know for sure, but I am not even going to purchase pregnancy tests this month....I am just not confident.

Well tomorrow is my husband's specialist appointment to find out his results from his 3 month follow up for his counts. Here's hoping that we get some good news.
On a sad note though, my temps dropped this morning so I'm guessing AF is on her way. She's not due until Saturday, but with the way my last few weeks have been, my whole body may be out of whack.

AF due tomorrow. Still experiencing the strange spotting. Starting to think it's one of those "miscarry before you even realize you're pregnant" type of things, because I have not had spotting like this and for this long ever before. I don't even want to take a test because I'm afraid of what will come in the next few days....it's better not to know.

Round 30. Ugh. Can't say I'm particularly "hopeful". It is what it is.

Cycle #1 for us - I'm so excited to finally get to post in this thread!!

We've been BD-ing about every other day or so, but I don't think I'll officially ovulate for a few days. I have very long cycles, so I won't know anything till about the 23rd of the month!

Still, I'm glad to be a part of this conversation!

This is cycle #21 for us. I had an appointment with my OB a couple of weeks ago and we did a bunch of blood work that all came back normal and I had a dye test (HSG, I think?) and that was normal. My doctor wants me to start on Clomid with my next cycle (I was already too late in the cycle to start it this time around).
My husband went in on the 23rd to have some blood work done and to follow up on his analysis from 3 months ago. We go on Thursday to get the results of all of those tests.
AF is due next week Saturday (Sept. 8) and here's hoping that she doesn't show!

Good luck to all of those in for Sept.

This is our second month TTC. AF is due around Wednesday, which would be 16 DPO. Had some decent spotting yesterday (11 DPO) after DTD and started freaking out that my luteal phase is messed up this cycle because of all of my back-to-school stress (I'm a teacher). Spotting has since tapered, but there's still a tinge on the tp. Of course I am hopeful that it's implantation bleeding, but I'm pretty sure AF is on the way :/. I am kind of guessing on O day based on CM, I think it happened in my sleep because I can usually tell when I'm ovulating (an hour or so of crampyness). I did not track temps this month, so I can't claim complete accuracy.

I will be starting my first round of Clomid this month and hope to be pregnant before my next cycle. My husband had is test done again today and if the numbers are the same as the last time then we will be moving forward with the Insemination process sooner if the Clomid doesn't work this cycle.

Good Luck you all that are TTC!!!!

We are TTC this month. The hubby and I have decided that if we are not successful this month, that we will need to take 2-4 months off because of how 9 months would fall. Sometimes it is great being a teacher, but trying to have children and being a teacher makes it challenging!

Good luck to all!

First time TTC for me! I originally was going to wait until I lost more weight, but my husband finally convinced me to start, haha. Plus, my doctor said we're good to go at our preconception appointment a couple months back, as long as I don't put on a ton of weight during pregnancy. Personally, I don't think that will be a major problem, since I have been used to eating well & exercising for many months now.

Good luck to everyone! :)
