so after a test that could not look more negative 4 days before af due, i took another (or maybe 3 emoticon ) today (2 days before af due).

there was a faint plus sign...on all 3 of them. On each one the horizontal line is dark, and the vertical is the one that is faint, but there's definitely something there. It's not clear if it's exactly as thick as the horizontal, but it's close

Could it be? what are your thoughts? evap lines or +? my plan is to do another one tomorrow to see if it looks more definitive, but also buy a better test and wait to do that one until day af is due or even after.

I'm prepped for the bad news, but really really hoping for the best!

from the reading i've done, ovulation kits are the way to go. charting your temperature can help too, but you won't get any use out of it the first month you do it...the first month will just be seeing your pattern and setting your comparison basis for the following month(s).

sorry, ASA109ZT, i know how you feel- i'm going to try to focus on getting as healthy as i can, too

I haven't tried it yet but I think BBT is worth it and will do it for next month (as well as an OPK since as far as I can tell the BBT gives you a good sense of if & when you're cycle is going into the different phases, but won't give you enough leeway on ovulation for you to be able to plan/time things?)

Took the test yesterday morning. BFN. :( I spent all day being sad about it. I am still sad, but I am trying to think positive. This gives me at least another month to lose more weight and get more fit before baby. My period still has not started and has shown no signs it is coming. I hope my cycles haven't decided to go loopy. I think I might try tracking my BBT once it rears its ugly head. That should help if my cycle has decided to become longer.

congratulations!!!!!

good idea re:dollar store (and also with the cup/dipping - never thought of that!)

i have a stock pile of tests from my work - they are cheapies and they're all just past the expiration date but i figure they're good enough for a first pass, might get a digital one if need be though - i agree, would love to see the words!

i took a test yesterday morning - it was definitely bfn and i was devastated :( but, that was 4 days before my af is supposed to arrive, so i'm planning to test again tomorrow morning (2 days before af), and will do again if need be (i really do have a ton of tests!)

breasts/nipples have been very tingly/sore/almost stinging? on and off last weekend, but no sign of that today yet. anyone else get that? i do still have a glimmer of hope for this cycle, but i won't be any more hurt if it's a bfn again and will try to keep a positive outlook we shall see!

I saved my pee from this morning in a cup ( plastic cup that I will trash...lol) and headed to the dollar store at 9am when they opened. Picked up prego test and other random thing so the check out person would not give me a sideways look. Headed home, did the test, walked away and prepared my self for negative results. 3 mins later .....2lines...2LINES!! What!!!
BFP!!!!

Making plans to get 2 more test to make sure it was not a false positive....but OMG.
2years and I may see prego.

Wow

For those not wanting to spend a ton of money on the pregnancy tests: If you have a Dollar Store near you, stock up. They really are $1 and just as effective (if not more) than the expensive ones. I did have a digital one too though because it's always exciting to see the words. I didn't use that one though until I got the BFP on the dollar store one.
Good luck!

I am kinda in the same boat as u. I should have had my period Sunday. It's now Tuesday no bleeding yet. I am crazy tired and having other period like symptoms(cramps, sickness) so I am waiting just one more day till I test.

I agree! Anytime after the first day of your missed period, the odds of the results being correct are outstanding. As long as your hormones levels are high enough! If you test with your first pee of the morning, the hormone levels are more concentrated. Maybe try it first thing tomorrow morning? Fingers crossed for you too!

Hello ladies! My AF hasn't shown up yet, and I'm on day 39 as of this morning! I usually cycle 31-34 days, so it's definitely late. I took a home test a few days ago and it was a BFN, but my mom had a weird thing with all three of her pregnancies where her hormones took a while longer to show up with a BFP. Maybe it's hereditary? Who knows! I've definitely been super witchy and emotional lately, and was a tad queasy this morning...

My husband and I have been sort of TTC, more just seeing what happens, and we're up for whatever! I was hoping to lose more weight before pregnancy, but hey... if I am, I'll take it!

How long should you wait to take a pregnancy test? My period should have started by now. It was four weeks on the 25th and it normally starts a couple of days later so I should have started on the 27th and I don't even have any spotting yet. I have only been off of birth control since the end of March so I don't know if maybe my cycles are changing or something. I don't know! I want to take a test, but I am nervous and really don't want a BFN. I would rather know I am not pregnant by getting my period than by a negative pregnancy test. So, how long should I wait? Another week?

IBTINK, sorry to see the BFN. It's so hard to see those months tick by. I've always found that I was newly positive at the beginning of my cycle then it would fade away after I ovulated. It's hard to keep that postivity month after month. How are things going on your husband's end? I pray for you often and hope you are finding some answers.

Congratulations on the BFP!

I temp, too, and I'm thinking the stress of the past few weeks unrelated to this has gotten to me - I'm on day 19, and no rise in temp yet, which usually happens by day 14 - I hate to think I'm not going to ovulate now that I'm actually trying to ovulate, when I always ovulated like clockwork when I was trying to avoid pregnancy.

I'm hoping things will work out - I'm not going to test unless I'm at least 4 days past due, so we'll see.

wow, congratulations to all of you! I just went back and read from the beginning (along with a pregnancy acronym helper!), and I am so happy for the BFPs!!!!! (makes a lot more sense now that I know what that is!)

I'm a hopeful this cycle, too and couldn't be more excited about it all :)
I'm an obsessive planner and a researcher, but I'm trying to take a laid back approach since we're just starting TTC and I don't want to stress myself out (which I have a tendency to do!)

I just wanted to say hi, congratulations to all who just got good news, and good luck to everyone else!

I'm getting so incredibly anxious it is crazy... only 4 more days and I can test, but I can't seem to get my mind off of everything baby. Like I've said before patience is not my thing, plus I swear I'm feeling symptoms and can't convince myself otherwise... which is totally not helping. ha! the only goo thing is that I have been oddly healthy lately because of the voice in the back of my head telling me to eat good stuff for my hypothetical baby. :-)

How's everyone else doing? Anyone else in their 2WW?

NBradford that is SO AWESOME!!! I am beyond happy for you right now. With everything I saw you go through the last 2 years...(as I still lurk on the board occasionally).

Thanks Ladies! I just called my doctor, and I couldn't even speak. It was the first time I said it out loud. I've only been typing it so far. It still doesn't seem real!

OMG, there's two lines!!! BPF! I can't believe it! Thank you all of you for your kind words. good luck wishes, and prayers.

We are almost upon our three year mark of TTC, and my husband got testicular cancer during that time too, so we have so much to celebrate.

As far as symptoms, I really didn't have many. My breasts just started to get sore yesterday (after AF was due, typically it's a couple days before), and I've been having period type cramps. The cramps would probably be the only thing slightly off. I get them every cycle, but I usually only get them a few days before AF, but with this cycle, I started getting them over a week before (I'm guessing implantation). When I say period-type, I mean it felt exactly like AF was on her way. Oh, and my BBT sky rocketed. I usually top out at 97.8, and it's been above 98 for the past four days and still rising.

Hey SAMI - I know it's sooooo hard to wait but everything I've read encourages you to wait until the first day of your missed period. That way, you don't have any false negatives and don't waste your money on all those tests! Good luck to you and your hubby!!!

Welcome WENZTHAT!
I'm with ya I've pretty much convinced myself I am pregnant, but it was also our 1st time actually trying as well and I don't want to get my hopes up. I have a bunch of symptoms too, backache, increased discharge (TMI again :-)), nausea, and even a tender lower abdomen... However I shouldn't actually test until next Friday, and it is driving me crazy!!
Good luck with the test tomorrow!! p.s. you have a lot of self control... I'll probably test a few times before my (hopefully) missed AF (seriously I have no patience)!!

Hi all! This is my first time posting to this group and also the first time I've been in the two week wait! I've pretty much convinced myself that I'm pregnant, so I'm also trying to prepare myself for the fact that I'm not. This is the first time my husband and I have even tried, but I've been off birth control for a long time, so I know that at least won't be a factor. I am supposed to start my period today or tomorrow, so we'll find out soon enough! The reason I think I'm pregnant is because over the last two weeks I've had increased discharge (sorry, TMI), hot flashes, itchy skin (okay, this may not be a pregnancy symptom, but my skin was so freakin' itchy!, hehe), and then yesterday I started feeling nauseous...had to go to the bathroom and stand over the toilet, but luckily didn't get sick. So anyway, I hope I'm not reading into these things too much, although it's so hard not to! I will be taking a test tomorrow if my period doesn't start by then!!!

Thanks for the good luck wishes ladies! Trying to stay positive, but also feeling a little weird. We've been trying so long, and we've been thrown so many curveballs, that I'm not sure how I'll react if this is actually it.

JOJO: I had trouble getting a positive OPK until I started temping. I don't temp every cycle if I know I'm going to have a wonky sleep schedule, but even in the cycles I don't temp, I know when to start testing with the OPK thanks to the knowledge I've gained from temping. Now I get two good days of positive tests each cycle.

During my first two cycles of temping I was a note taking nut-job. I'd take my temp in the morning, then also record as the day went on any other symptoms I may have had to look for patterns. I have the OvuView ap on my phone (it's a droid, the ap is free), and it not only tracks your temp and symptoms, but it also has a note taking tab where you can add anything extra. My doctor was asking me questions about my cycles at my last anual, and he was amazed at what I was able to record and recognize in the following cycles. My Dr. and his wife had to do IVF to get pregnant, so he's super supportive of BBTing and symptom tracking. I know some doctors don't know or maybe don't want to be bothered with reading charts.

AF is expected anytime after next wednesday as I'm pretty irregular, but becoming more regular with clomid.(has ranged btw 26-37 days) I ovulated in April and hoping I did but opk never showed a smiley either month. We did better trying to time bd so I'm thinking about testing on sun... Maybe I'm trying to be too symbolic... The wait is killing me and since opk hasn't worked I'm going to start temping if I'm not

I'm a May hopeful. This is my first month of being a hopeful in this round of trying. We had a previous round of trying for several months that was unsuccessful. I'm definitely ovulating and much lighter this time around. We haven't told anyone we're trying, so I feel very nervous and secretive even posting this. But I wanted to tell somebody.

Okay, so I might not actually be out yet. My cycle has been so weird this month. I had a huge jump in temp this morning 15DPO, but I was expecting it to be low, so I didn't check the thermometer until after I went to the bathroom (wasted my FMU). I'm still getting these period-type cramps on and off during the day, but I fully expected to begin spotting yesterday or today, and so far nothing. The cramping isn't weird, I usually get them a few days before AF, but I've never had a 15 day LP, it's always 14, so here's to the temp staying up and probably testing Friday if AF doesn't show. It's my own sort of rebellion to the hpt gods that I don't test until well past the expected AF. It's going to be a movement, just you wait and see. I'm thinking I'll call it Occupy my Womb. I am the 99%!

MOMIN09: I'm so sorry to read the news about your DH. I'm hoping you can find some answers with the endocrinologist. Good Luck.

I think I'm out for the month. My temp dropped this morning, my cramping has remained, and I'm starting to feel nausea, so I'm guessing AF is right around the corner. According to my chart, BDing wasn't exactly timed very well any way. My cycle was really long due to work stress as well, 42 DAYS!! I'm ready to get back to my 30 day cycle.

I started going back to my weekly acupuncture appointments as well, and I'm doing fertility yoga on a daily basis, so I'm totally "zenned out" and letting my body heal itself from the stress of tax season and hopefully prepare it for a healthy pregnancy in the future. In August/September, I will have gone a whole year with unmedicated cycles!!!

I'm out for this month. DH and I weren't able to BD around the time I ovulated, so I'm out. We did get some rough news from his urologist that the medication that we got pregnant on last time, didn't work this time. DH's numbers didn't go up like they did last time. They stayed the same. He has referred DH to see an endocronologist and we have that appointment set up for June 6. Hopefully that doctor can figure something out to get DH's numbers up so that we can get pregnant.

Hello all!

Hubby and I are TTC this month! We aren't doing anything special yet. We bd on May 3rd about 3 days after WTE says I ovulated and I am now strangely spotting? My period isn't due until next week and I am normally regular. Who knows! Ha!

I am going to the doctor on Wednesday anyways, I will ask about it then.

Good luck and lots of baby dust to all you ladies! :)

Onehotmama: we're due for AF the same time. Cycle buddies! Good Luck!

I don't really know how I feel about this cycle. I charted to see what my temps would do, and I could definitely see how stress effects a cycle (I'm an accountant and the final weeks of tax time are insane), my temps were all over the board, I ovulated late, and I've had some weird cramping that started a couple days ago. It feels like AF cramps, but it's way too early to be feeling AF cramps now, and my temps are going up with the cramping, not down which would be the likely pattern.

...soooo it's just the waiting game now. Good Luck Ladies.

I am in my tww. AF is supposed to be here next Wednesday and I have my yearly checkup on Monday. I have decided since I have an appointment so close to AF I will not actually do a test this time around. I don't feel great about this cycle but you never know. This is my 9th cycle of officialy trying so hoping that I can get some kind of plan in place next week in the event I am not pregnant.

Baby dust to all of you!

BFN this morning tells me AF is right around the corner. Looks like I'll be a May hopeful and on cycle #16 TTC #1. I'm supposed to get CD bloodwork in order to move forward with an infertility treatment plan, but it looks like that will happen while I'm out of town this week. emoticon Good luck to all those TTC in May!
