Dropped a brand-new pound this week! As opposed to a pound that's been coming and going... I'm at 157.5 and the only time I've ever been down that low was when I was eating practically nothing and barely exercising. This has been a hard-won weight loss, but it definitely feels like my body is resetting to the new weight each time I lose a pound.

Hubby convinced me that since I am already doing everything that my doctor told me I should do/continue doing during my first trimester, I do not need to know if I'm pregnant! This will make my life so much less stressful since it will be a couple of months before I take a pregnancy test even after I miss a period and that will leave far less time to wait to find out if the pregnancy is going to make it or not. In the meantime, I'm realizing that I should be taking good care of myself whether there's another person growing in my body or not!

Hope all is well ladies! Good work with school, red port!

Go Janet!

It is one week into the school term and I have actually exercised more rather than less than I did over the summer! I lucked out and had some opportunities to do some walking at work. Yippy! I haven't seen it reflected at the scale yet but I am PMSing and feel totally bloated too so steady is probably a good thing.

My DD doesn't start school until after labor day and we have a big trip for that weekend coming up so I am trying to stock pile some fitness. Hope everyone else is feeling good heading into fall.

Hurray! That's fantastic, you've been waiting a long time to see those results! I'll have to check in after this weekend; I keep forgetting when I don't have anything exciting to say about weight loss, but exercise is going GREAT!

Red_port, keep up the effort. Every little bit helps. Trust me when I say this team is great at helping you pick yourself up after a slump. So if you get to one this winter just turn to this team and they will help, either with compfort or suggestions...Keep it up!

Hi, I'm Jo. I am not TTC just yet but I ditched my bc this month in prep for the fun part. My long term goal is to lose 10 lbs per month until I do conceive and then stay stable at whatever that is and get right back on the bandwagon when I am done nursing. However, I have been doing Spark for 4 months already and I've only lost about 10 lbs total. But, that's 10 lbs closer to my goal so I'm pretty much just happy with that.

My short term goal is to keep up my exercise routine when school starts in a few weeks. I restart my fitness plan every summer and the first time I get sick in the winter I stop and it's all over until spring break rolls around again. But I am determined to stay active this year. In the summer I garden almost daily and I swim 3 times a week. Right now I am experimenting with Zumba and yoga videos, weights, and walking for alternatives when I am too congested to swim because I a determined to keep it going all winter.

Good luck and baby dust to everyone!

Hi ladies! I was on the July challenge and forgot to move into August.I am currently in a two goal mode as far as my weight loss. When I started my weight loss treck last August I wanted to lose 30 lbs. After several up and down and steady months I found SP and I finally reached a loss of 15 lbs in the beginning of July. Then there were vacations and birthdays and holidays, but luckily I only gained .5lbs after all of that. I started August at 140.5 (my usual weigh ins are Mondays) and after a week I am still there. I have gone back to restricting my calories to 1200 to 1550, but on my "bad" days no higher than 1700 which is roughly my BMR.After 8 days I have only gotten into my "bad" range once. And I have exercised in some way every day so far.

I have a short term goal of losing 5.5 lbs by September 10th, a week before I go to one of my close friend's wedding...my reward for losing the weight will be a new dress. My long term goal is to lose the additional 10 lbs by December 31st, my birthday.

I am hoping for this month to continue my exercising everday, no matter what the exercise is, and to continue my calorie intake under 1550. Good luck to everyone's fitness goals.

As for TTC, we are not actively trying. I am off BC, but to get rid of migraines. That being said, my sex frequency has been up since getting off. And I technically skipped my last period (according to how it was on BC), but I have been on BC for 9 years, so I am not sure what my normal cycle is yet. I just know that if AF does not arrive before my friend's bachelorette party I am taking a test, cause I don't want to be PG and get wasted.

I'm trying to stay weight stable - after losing 85 to 90 pounds since April of last year, my OB told me that I should focus on keeping at my current weight. I have set a 5 pound range for myself and haven't gone over the high end goal, but I do seem to have a harder time staying in the lower range. I've been so accustomed to being in the weight loss category that maintenance seems so foreign.

I am also excited to have found a place to track PMS and pregnancy symptoms so that I can start to reassess what my new normal is. I seemed to know right away that I was pregnant which later ended in miscarriage - so having had only one normal period since February - I need to determine what 'normal' is. I still hope for a BFP, but if I get AF instead, at least I will have more information for my tracking of the difference between PMS/AF symptoms and pregnancy ones.

Weighed in at 158.5 this morning to finally show 2lbs. of weight loss after a month of hard work! My running has turned into cross-training because of a foot injury, but I'm still working out and I'm loving the new way of tracking food.

Way to go! I love those moments when I get to see myself choosing the life I most want - you've inspired to get off my butt on this 'rest day' and wash the dog already! Haha, that's my scheduled workout for today so I better get to it!

Yesterday my yoga class was cancelled but I still came home and did 30 minutes of cardio. Not as intense a workout but I stuck to my goal and made sure I did SOMETHING. Tonight I'll be at the 6:00 yoga class.

Good luck to everyone with their goals!

Spark helped me reach my goal weight so hopefully it can also help me get my budget on track :)

JSMILE50...I am trying for under 2 hours...wish me luck!! I am running with a girl who is 100 lbs wet, so we shall see hahha.

I hear your pain about period symptoms...every month I think I am preggers. I think we are just more in tune with our bodies. I swore last month I was just to get let down when AF came. From now on I'm not thinking about it till I get a BFP!! :)

Oops, I did it again - I posted overly-ambitious/wrong goals for the month. My corrected goal is to lose .5-1 pound per week.

I've already done 5 of my 15 miles, though! Looks like I need to take a day off from high-impact to make sure I don't end up with a stress fracture, but I will be back to it in a day or two, as soon as the foot feels better.

On the ttc side, why does pms have to feel SO MUCH like being pregnant?? Maybe it's just because this will be my first "normal" period post-miscarriage, but I actually stopped at the dollar store to get a test today. They were out! I'll probably try again later this week unless my period's started by then. I hate feeling crazy. =)

I'm stealing your goal. I want to work out consistently. Whatever I do, I need to do it consistently. Also, I want to loose 5 pounds this month. I am starting a new job this week and I need to keep focused and not let it be an excuse to not exercise, eat poorly, and spend more money :)

My goal is to work out consistently. The last few weeks I've been slacking and need to get back into the routine of EVERYDAY.

My goal is to workout daily, unless I am sick or sore from a previous workout. I was good about attending classes at a local yoga studio until it got so hot! going to a 4:30 class today with a friend and then hoping to get back in a better groove.

Spark helped me reach my goal weight so hopefully it can also help me get my budget on track :)

I'm excited about two things - I finally feel like I have a plan to safely cut calories without cutting nutrients while I'm waiting to get pregnant, which means I can keep lsoing weight right up until I find out I'm pregnant! And my doc's office said that I could continue the jogging program I recently started throughout pregnancy as long as I my body doesn't make any complaints! These two things have left me so energized and optimistic about both a short wait and a long wait. I lost almost 5 pounds in july and I'd like to lose 5 more in August.

So here are my goals for August:
Weight: Lose 1-2 pounds a week. Make 156.5 by Aug. 27th.
Jogging: Do 15 1-mile jogs by Aug. 27th.
Diet: Eat the Daily Dozen (from Eating Well When You're Expecting) as efficiently as possible every day.

I won't post my workout goals, because I know that those will change from week to week, but I'll definitely get my 'runs' in!

Janet
