Great news! No more crutches!!! Woot!

They put me in a walking cast for the next week. This one will come off, I will have 12 hours without a cast then a new one will get put on. One day at a time.

When I was on crutches it was always my armpits that got the worst of the deal-- Could never get a good fit, y'know?... LOL

I wish you a speedy recovery from your surgery!

Today I find out what they are going to do with the foot. Either I get a cast, or they are going to let me continue with the split. Either way, I want to ditch the crutches already. I have a blister on my right palm just from yesterday, and one forming on the left palm. They hurt more than the foot does!

Saw the doctor...foot is definitely broken. I now have a cast of sorts.

I've got to stop getting hurt like this.

My level of exercise was definitely a cardio workout :-)

I was participating in mock melee weapon combat (I perform at Renaissance festivals and in an interactive theater group). Basically, I was fighting with 2 swords that are padded to prohibit serious injury. It requires alot of movement, some running, alot of squatting, swinging and thrusting motions with the arms. I also did alot of walking through a field where the grass hadn't been mowed yet, walks through the woods (some of which was not on a path of any kind), and repeated trips up and down several hills.

I hope your foot gets healed quickly. Foot injuries are troublesome for diabetics. My daughter does live action role playing and was away this weekend at it. Is that what you were doing?

Certain kinds of exercise can also raise your blood sugar, rather than lower it as you'd expect.

I'm sure things will level out again in a few days.

ah...pain could be what is causing it. I slipped on a gravel hill this weekend and very likely may have fractured my foot. It's been very painful (will be heading to the urgent care after work).

I'm not anxious about anything, I'm pretty upbeat (my weekend was alot of fun despite the injury yesterday morning) and hormones are not too much of an issue (thanks to surgery I'm already considered post menopause).

I've found that hormones, anxiety, emotions, and pain all affect my blood sugar. If you know that the eating and meds are constant, then you need to chart other things in your life. I keep a little notebook to write down everything. Your levels are still within normal limits, so don't worry too much. Just stay on track, keep a journal and let your doctor know what is happening.
For me, menopause really messed with my blood sugar.
Good luck!

I don't get it. I didn't change my eating habits. I didn't forget my meds. The only thing that changed this weekend was my activity level, which went up (I participate in mock swordfighting 4 weekends a year). For some reason my FBS has been higher the last two mornings than higher. What am I missing?

Friday was 97
Saturday was 93
Sunday was 113
Monday is 122.
