50 minutes walking with the dogs this morning. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy the sunshine without that cold wind we've had lately.

FAITH - My last five prayers have been done without needing to refer to notes, alhumdulillah.

FITNESS - The cold weather here is affecting my arthritis, and I've allowed myself to become so busy doing other things that I did no exercise Wednesday and Thursday. A 25 minute dog walk this morning is just the beginning of me being more motivated to find time for exercise of some sort, inshaallah.

HEALTH - No progress with drinking water, either alone or in herbal teas, but another team's monthly challenge is focusing on 8 glasses of water per day in the second full week of May, so I am hopeful of a big improvement then - and sticking with it.

HAPPINESS - I finally have my ADSL internet connection up and running, so everything takes so much less time than with my very slow wireless connection on my old laptop. Definite reason to be happy and thankful.

FAITH - improved on the previous 24 hours, but still need to refer to my copy of Al Tashihud before I begin.

FITNESS - two walks with my dogs per day, rather than the original one. Lovely walking just before dusk, because we often see the kangaroos nearby searching for some still green grass.

HEALTH - still struggling with the 8 glasses of water per day, even with the inclusion of herbal teas.

HAPPINESS - once I've finished posting on team boards, I will sit myself down and knit until dinner time, I cooked enough vegetable, bean and lentil casserole this morning to make four servings, which I'm really happy about.

emoticon for the encouragement. Inshaallah I will continue to improve each day.

FAITH: Just about memorized, other than a momentary glitch at times.

FITNESS; The car had to be used for delivering bags of clothing to friends, and for taking a car load of tools to the recycling shop at our council's rubbish dump. I will take my dogs for a second walk late afternoon instead, so we will all benefit from the extra exercise.

HEALTH: Herbal teas are making it a lot easier to drink that water. Not yet up to 8 per day, but working on it.

HAPPINESS: Too busy to spend time knitting, but at least I have a lovely clean, well organized carport - made me even happier than the knitting would have.

This is the perfect challenge for a new sister. Inshaallah I will increase my knowledge of Islam, become a little fitter and healthier and as a result be a much happier person.

Today (Thursday) I will, inshaallah, be able to complete the following -
FAITH: spend an hour working on memorizing my prayers so I don't have to keep referring to notes.
FITNESS: walk my two dogs and walk rather than drive around town, unless absolutely necessary.
HEALTH: drink those 8 glasses of water, no matter how I feel about them.
HAPPINESS: spend some time this afternoon working on the jumper I am knitting for myself in preparation for winter. (begins June 1 here in Australia).

inshallah i will have time once lotfi and ayman have gone tonight to get round to answer this.they are going to tunisia for 4.5 weeks,ayyub is already there and i still have lots to do before they go.i think this is a great idea and inshallah i can get back to answer over the next few days.

As salam alaikum sisters,

Taking a break from our Alphabet Forum, I thought on the occasion of the First of Shabaan, to focus on positive activities in our four focus points for Activah! They are Faith, Fitness, Health and Happiness.

Now the point is to record and share with your sisters how you have been positive in any or all of these areas. Post as often as you like, weekly or daily as you are able. Isa, we will all benefit and be encouraged to find balance and try new ways to incorporate positive changes to our lifestyles.

Here is the format, just start with one of the four focus areas and then write your positive activity. I'll get us started, isa. Choose one or all to write about.

FAITH: Alhamduliliah, read 10 ayat in Arabic from Surah al-Burug

FITNESS: Did some kitchen work and laundry

HEALTH: Restarted an old habit of green tea with milk and NO SUGAR, Made three heathy items, potatoe salad, macaroni salad and potatoes au gratin.

HAPPINESS: Invited some sisters over for tomorrow evening. Looking forward to that gathering.

Isa, we'll keep this activity up for the month of Shabaan.
