Yes I'm sure it could be made with out the bananas. However the bananas are really really good in there, and you don't get much really per a serving. :)

For a potluck with tops, the pretzel salad may be good, it comes out good sometimes for me and sometimes not.

I will tell you I took Mountain Dew Salad though to TOPS, and every one went on and on about it!

We are having a TOPS potluck on April 7th and I'm going to bring the pretzel salad. I have not tried it before but after hearing you all talk about it it sounds really good. It makes a big pan too that is good for a pot luck.

Over the weekend I made for my very first time Kolaches. It was Cherry Kolaches p.139. I don't know why I waited to long to make them, scared I guess with making indents and filling dough, but they were super easy! you've got to try them! The portion was generous and we had them for dessert and breakfast the next day. It was almost pastry-like and I miss pastry very much.

I can't wait to try the Runzas in this book or other flavors of Kolaches.from the other books.

DH and I gave it 5 stars and my son must have too, he finished them off!

tonight we had Pea and Cheese Salad p.57 for a side dish. Although it seemed like just a pea salad when reading the recipe, it wasn't. In fact, it was anything but plain. Along with peas and cheddar cheese, it has sliced celery, chopped onion, which gave it just the right crunch, and ranch dressing, which gave it an herb flavor and mingled nicely with it all. I can't describe how different sliced celery was so different than chopped celery, perhaps the surface of it? But both my husband and I couldn't stay out of it and he remarked I could make it anytime and he could take it to work and nosh on it off and on. (its difficult for him to eat at work because he has to stop and go back and pick up eating when he can.) after dinner, I spotted the jar of bacon bits I had forgotten to add in. so even without the bacon, this was great.

5 stars and a keeper!

it is soo easy and soo fresh tasting. Dont even have second thoughts about making this one, just do it! I have read reviews of this that it is just like the strawberry pie at Bob's Big Boy, I havent had their pie, but it must be good if its like this one!

I have never seen my family enjoy a pie more than this one. With strawberries coming into season, this is a must try.

a 5+ star keeper for sure!

Heather: be sure to add the link to the index. Thanks!

I tried both these a while back.

Pretzel "Salad" Dessert-
tinyurl.com/cj5qqq
I had Pretzel "Salad" Dessert for the first time about 15 years ago, at my aunt's home. She said it was for diabetics, but didn't tell me where she got it. I just knew this was it when I seen it again! It is very good! My aunt always served it to guests in the summer. I took it to the summer block party and came back with a empty dish.

Sage Stuffing Bake-

I loved it. Perfect for any family dinner, or just a great comfort food! I made mine with toasted light whole wheat bread. And it came out great! You get twice the serving for the same amount of calories that way also. I just couldn't get enough of it. I had to make it two times in a row it was so good.
