Take the core out of the apple and slice it from the top down, but not all the way to the bottom. Put the apple in a glass microwavable dessert dish, spread it slightly apart, drizzle the syrup over the apple and sprinkle the pecans over top.
Microwave on HIGH for 2 to 4 minutes (depending on the firmness of the apple before baking).
