Ok, on the old HE board we used to have these kind of threads all the time. So I thought hey, let's have one here!
They always came up with a ton of ideas, and very inspiring.
So what is your favorite HE (Healthy Exchanges) summer recipes?
What do you love to take to that weekend get together, or family picnic?
For me, I can't show up with out-
Daddy's Deviled Eggs, from June 2000 newsletter Layered Party Pea Salad, from Cooking Healthy with Splenda
Last year I took Fresh Strawberry Pie from August 2007 Newsletter, and my grandfather in law, said if I wanted to make him happy to bring that again! But, I think I will make the Strawberry Triumph Pie from May 2000 newsletter instead!
I usually also take Good old Green Bean Bake from Across America. But, this year I want to save some calories so I think I'll bring the Zucchini Bean Salad from Make a Joyful Table. I haven't tried it yet, but seeing it listed on Judy's site, I decided to look it up. I'll have to type it up soon. It looks like a three bean salad, but with Zucchini added to the mix! I love both zucchini and bean salad, so I think it has to be good!
