Awe ok, yes JoAnna created them. And like Ann said you can purchase them directly from HealthyExchanges.com I love them. I buy a few at a time as it's cheaper. And keep the extra in my freezer. They last a long time in the freezer for me.

As for jj, yes I tried to contact her the other day but she hasn't gotten back to me. I think today I will just make a post with her name on it and maybe she will see it. It seems like she may have some of the old boards archives! If so that would be GREAT! I actually ironically had made a post to her under the thread about Jo's Spices! lol haha Where she made a comment that had a part of a old HE board archive posted in it! And I want to know how she got that! If she had filed it away or what, cause I can't access the old files for nothing!

And yes those sites I hear are great for getting HE books. I also really like bookcloseouts.com I've gotten really good deals there, and they don't charge a arm and a leg in shipping and handling. I've only gotten my last few books from there. The others I got from ebay, the HE site, and amazon, and one from QVC. I sure wish I would of discovered bookcloseouts at the beginning would of saved me a arm and a leg!

Also you may want to keep a eye out on the healthyexchanges.com message boards, once in a while people are offering stuff off on there. I know it wasn't long ago some one was offering around 10 of her books. There was just one I didn't have Desserts Every Night, I had Diabetic Desserts, which I was told when ordering it was the same as Desserts Every night, but then as I have used the HE recipe search feature, I noticed at least 10 recipes were not in DD there were in DEN. So........I got it from the person offering off her books.

I also was only able to order, I believe back to 1999 Newsletters from HE when I found HE and got addicted. But, then again, one time I went on vacation, I came back and some one had posted they were selling their Newsletters from 1992-1999! WOW! I was so hoping I hadn't missed them! I emailed the lady right away, and she said she had had a few offers but only people who wanted to buy like one year, and she would rather just get rid of all of them at once, and since I was willing to buy them all, she let me buy them from her. She even sent me one of the old HE binders that they used to sell! Which reminds me I want to ask Gina to make those again, I love the ONE I have. But, I would like to have 12. Cause I like a Binder for each month of the year, then I keep all the January Newsletters in one binder, all the February newsletters in one, etc. Any way......the Binder is black with pink lettering and really cute, and SAYS Healthy Exchanges. If only she would sell a set that has that and has each month printed on the binding, I would jump on them! lol haha

Any way....they fit in the book case easy that way, and it's easier to cook in season that way.

So my point is, you may want to keep a eye on the HE message board as well, every once in a great while some one is offering their older stuff.

I also hear goodwill's and the like are good places to keep a eye out. Here in New York no such luck, but you being in the midwest, I just bet if you keep your eyes open you just may find some! It's worth keeping a eye out!

I have however, found one once, in a REAL book store in the bargain bin! I found Healthy Exchanges (that's the name of the book), in the bargain bin for only 2.00! That is the cheapest I have gotten any of my books. :)

Of the booklet's my favorites are Best of HE Newsletters, and the Holiday one.

Sure enough, the spices are there! Thanks, Ann!
I've bought all my HE books so far from Half.com; I try to get two at a time from the same seller to reduce shipping costs. I agree, the condition is excellent, usually like new.

Good Morning, I'll get back to posting some recipes from Grandma's Comfort Food Made Healthy this morning. I have the house to myself.

I'm pretty sure you have to order Jo's spices from the HE store. Gina's address should be in the newsletters. Go on the www.healthyexchanges.com web site and click on the 'store' and they should be there.

I have 17 of Jo's cookbooks and three cook booklets.
My newsletters started in 1994.

Lee Ann, when you get ready to buy some of Jo's cook books go to the used cook book sites and you can get them very inexpensive. Sometimes even $1.00 each plus shipping. The ones I've purchased on line have been in excellent like new condition with not a mark in them. www.half.com and www.abebooks.com They all have off shoot sites.

Heather, have you seen jib (I think that is correct) posting on HE site lately. She posted tons of recipes earlier in the year. If she'd come over here we'd have some help.

Thanks Carole.

Hmmmm, not sure what you are asking about Jo's spices.

But, I can say I highly recommend them. They are msm, salt, and sugar free! You would be shocked how many seasonings out there have sugar! Even things like taco and chili seasonings have corn syrup! Her's are all natural and I like them a lot.

I particularly like the loose meat, sausage, and pumpkin pie spice, and the pizza. I use them all a LOT! :)

When I get back from vacation I'll post more 1990's recipes. Until then, I have some on my site wolfprncez.homestead.com/reviews.htm
l

Yeah I'm a member of the group, not much is said over there though, except for one member does do some reviews. I believe her name is Debbie Schroder. That's about it. :(

I am surprised more doesn't happen over there. Cause on other yahoo groups it's always hoppin'.

I have newsletters 2000 to present (wish the 1990's recipes would post, I can't get old newsletters!)
I would like the Cafe booklet but until my daily newsletter membership I paid for starts happening, I'm keeping my money LOL

Are you a member of the HE Yahoo board?
00
I am! But very disappointed that my emails to the board owners regarding spammers went ignored. I had to resort to reporting the spammers over and over and over to YahooGroups until Yahoo dealt with them. They need to get someone to moderate the group who will stay on top of spammers. Spammers make members not post. Spammers make members leave. That board is a rich resource of potential customers and it's sitting and rotting. It needs some TLC!

WOW. I'm so glad, we found you! :) And I'm glad you found HE! I know HE has changed my life. Literally with out Jo's recipes, I don't think I could of stuck with it all this time. Because I would of been so bored with the food. And I would of broke down and wanted my old favorites, who knew there was healthy recipes for all my old favorites!

You being from Oklahoma/midwest...me from Kansas there's not been any of my old favorites so far that hasn't been covered! I can't believe it!

The only one I had thought that wasn't covered was Pecan Surprise Pie from Furr's/Bishops, then last month that was featured too! lol I couldn't believe it.

Any way, I thank JoAnna almost every day for literally saving my life with these recipes! :)

I'm so glad you are enjoying them too now! :)

And yes, we need people to go through the links too. Right now I think we're doing good but as things begin to drop off, and not as much posting is going on, then we will really really need to see what got missed. :) Thanks so much!

Yes, it was this team that introduced me to HE. I saw a post that you had made on another team about this team and had to come check it out. I am so glad that I did!!!

I will do my best to help and make sure that the links are working just fine and stuff like that!

Lee Ann don't fret! :) That's so sweet.

If you want, you can help us edit, and make sure we are getting all of them posted. :)

This should be great for you, cause you'll get to see just how many recipes she really does have! :)

I didn't realize till now, cause you have been so great on this group in participating, is JoAnna new to you? I mean did our team introduce you to JoAnna/Healthy Exchanges?

That's great if we did! :)

I can totally understand money problems! Totally! :) I just collected the books little by little. :)

But, this project will really help people who are new, I know!

Cause that's how I got addicted to the HE recipes! On the old HE message board there was soooooo many to look at, and try. And that's how I figured out which books I wanted to get first. But, before I knew it, I was a full blown addict and had to have them all! lol haha

I hope you find some "new" ones to try! With all the posting! :)

Right now I do not have any of the books and I only have newsletters starting with Feb. 2008. I want to get some of the books but right now money is a problem. Hopefully I can get some soon and be able to help post recipes.

So far I have A Potful of Recipes, Another Potful of Recipes, HELP--The Healthy Exchanges Lifetime Plan, and Cooking Healthy with Splenda. For now I'll go on posting recipes from the last one, if that's OK. I don't have any newsletters.

Thanks Ann. Plus RuthBond/Judy is making sure to fix the links daily. So if you click on the links on her site, and they don't work, it's more then likely no one has posted them. She's been keeping up pretty quickly. :)

One thing that is working for me so I don't duplicate what has already been printed. I went to the Ruth Bond site and picked a book. I then wrote down the highlighted recipes and came back to the Sparkteam and did a search to see if they were posted. So far the ones I've posted have not been.

Looks like we have a few people pitching in and posting. You've had some pretty busy fingers also.

Are you a member of the HE Yahoo board? I know that Debbie Schroeder of NE usually posts the recipies that she has tried and her comments. So that is one place where someone could look.

Have fun on your vacation. Are your packing your laptop and crates of cookbooks too? (just kiddin')

Hehe, Deb! I know you sure are inspiring me!

Thanks so much for all your hard work! It certainly is helping! :) You're doing awesome!

It's time to expand my taste buds too! :)

I'm sure Judy will continue to add to her site, if we all talk about ones we have tried and the like.

I'm really enjoying reading her site again.....too bad we did lose the original post with all the little tid bits in them from every one about what they liked about each recipe. But, maybe some of us here can add to the threads about what we personally liked about them. :)

My newsletter collection goes back to 2000. As for the cookbooks, I'm missing the new pressure cooker, soy and the arthritis. I have a few of the cookbooklets.

I'm still working on posting the recipes from the 2000 newsletters. I thought I would start with the oldest first.

I hope JudyM will continue to update her site with the newer books. It's a convenient place to go to see which recipes others thought were 4 and 5 stars, and what they would do different if they were to make it again.

I know that I have my short list of favorites that I keep returning to. But now it's time to e-x-p-a-n-d my taste buds. By typing up these recipes, I'm sure I'll be finding a few more to add to my list.

Now if I can only find a way to type, cook and taste all at the same time. Probably it's a good thing the 'puter is in the bedroom.

I thought this would be a fun discussion, what books or newsletters of JoAnna's do you own?

I have pretty much all the books, and almost all the booklets. I just don't have the Spice Booklet, Cooking on the Go, Insider's Scoop, Jo's Kitchen Cafe or the new Beef/Hamburger one. And another one that was listed on this forum a few days ago, can't think of the name. But, all the rest I have.

I also have ALL the newsletters.

I think this will be fun to find out what every one else has as well, but also as a ulterior motive, lol if you have a book that Deb in MI, or LadybugPlus/Laura, or Pinecroft doesn't have, feel free to help add recipes so we can add the links to Judy's site. :) You can find the link to Judy's site, and see what books are listed there, that need new links (the old ones are lost cause the he board changed).

I've done a lot of the recipes too since I do have all the books and newsletters, but there's a lot more that needs to be added. I'll keep adding as many as I can. But, if we all pick a book, we'll be able to get it done real fast!

Also if any of you don't have any of the books or newsletters, or only have ones that have already been covered, I think we could also use some volunteers to help click on the links and make sure they are working, and report back to us which ones needs to be fixed, or added a recipe so it will work again.

Let me know if you want to do any of the above.

If you don't want to do either of those things, don't feel like you can't post what you have any way! lol It will still be fun to discuss them, don't feel obligated to have to type of recipes to comment on the thread. :) I understand it takes a certain type of person who wants to type (I didn't used to like it! lol) so I am not pressuring any one. I still want to talk about what we all have any way! :)
