EWEFLUFFY, when I buy the organic, unrefined oil, it is not too hard to eat it off a spoon. I prefer it in a recipe, too, though, and try to add it at the table so it is not cooked.emoticon

I use it in uncooked recipes, too, and snacks--a bit of honey and cocoa powder and salt. Chill or use warm and dip something into it.

new here - I have a jar of the LouAna brand CO. From what I've read it isn't the best but it's a start right?

Will replace regular cooking oil with it and also wondering if I could add it to my Greek-strained yogurt - like mixed up with a little honey or the fruit I usually put in it? Tomorrow morning I am going to try to duplicate the Eggwhite Spinach Wrap I get at Starbucks b/c their version has too much sodium. I'll sautee the spinach with my CO!

Good Heavens, I couldn't just eat coconut oil like that, I'd have to put it in something or use it to cook with. I cook my eggs in coconut oil and use it as my ONLY oil to cook with, altho on occasion I will use a small amount of butter. I have no other oils in my house except for some olive oil for salad.

You just take a spoon full of it and eat it down???? Arghh

I use to have my coconut oil everyday. I really had forgotten how good it is until I joined this team a couple of days ago.

I am challenging myself to eat 2-3 tbsp of coconut oil per day. Today was the day one and i did meet my goal. I love coconut to begin with, but oil i never eat before. Today i eat 1tbsp. oil first thing in the morning. Than i cook egg whites with 1tbsp. coconut oil. 3rd one i eat with my dinner. So far good. only thing i have to force to eat first thing in the morning. i need to work on that one. emoticon

Can any one let me know when is the good time to eat coconut oil. I try to eat morning afternoon and with my dinner.

Exactly. Start small. Also, coconut oil is a little like adding fibre to your diet. Too much can give you tummy troubles.

I use coconut oil for most everything now - a little real butter now and then. I try and keep to about 1200 calories per day, so try for 1T of the coconut oil per day, at least for now.

Yes, I have used small amts of olive oil so will replace that with the coconut. Tonite I used less than a teaspoon to saute mushrooms. Will see how it goes. Thanks!

How about REPLACING any oil you are already using with coconut oil. That way you aren't adding MORE fat.
Are you using any oils for anything at all?

Thanks for getting this group going! I am learning alot. I am still a little concerned about adding 2-3 TBSP of the Coconut Oil to my 1200 calorie intake. I was thinking of starting with 2-3 teaspoons. Do you think it will help. BTW, I love what it is doing for my hair and skin!

I did get another small jar of virgin coconut oil, and a parasite cleanse that I have not done before--they were out of what I wanted. I probably can do this challenge. The oil helps get rid of candida, so taking it in-between the two cleanse doses will work well.
