Hand surgery put the brakes on my cooking all last week. I'll be glad when things get back to normal. Can't even exercise for at least two more weeks!

Thanks. I used the Sweet Leaf Valencia orange last night on the cabbage. I can get Sweet Leaf products locally, so I'm going to try more flavors. There's a barbecue sauce recipe that calls for chocolate stevia drops.

I have experienced the too much. Made some brownies that were really awful and haven't tried baking anything else. But I think I will stick with your recipes for now.

Do you have any other recommendations for good brands of stevia?

Yeah. Certain brands also taste better than others. It's also hard to cook and bake with. Once you get the knack it gets better.

Some tips on baking with stevia:

When baking cakes and cookies... let the dough sit in the fridge for a few hours before baking. It helps the flavour and sweetness. Baked goods also taste better the next day after baking.

Also, too little stevia may not sweeten at all, but too much can leave a powerful aftertaste.

Also, some baking may need a small amount of sugar for browning, so you could reduce the sugar to whatever and use stevia to make up the balance.

Also, some recipes may need volume replaced if you are using a conventional recipe. Like if you use a cookie recipe and use stevia instead of sugar, you will need to replace the volume with something else. Applesauce or canned pumpkin work well for this.

I ordered as soon as I saw your recipe. I'll keep your coupons in mind though. Hope I like it. I have not been a fan of stevia, but last night I made a sweet and sour red cabbage dish with Valencia orange stevia. It was pretty tasty, so I must be getting used to stevia.

Thanks for the post. I ordered Steviva from Amazon. There is only one place in CO that sells it and it is 50 miles away.

Oh. If you don't have steviva blend, then you can use 1/2 cup brown sugar.
