Today I took a class called "body attack," which is a high-intensity, sports drill kind of class. I also did a quick workout with kettle bells (my favorite thing right now!).

I got a gym membership and have been going to the gym 6 days a week, I do between 90-120 minutes a day and one Fridays I swim instead of hitting the machines. Today I went to the gym for 90 minutes and played tennis for 60 minutes and burned 1300 calories. I usually dont go on Sundays but am going to go tomorrow because it is my last week at work which happens to be a big week and they need me to be there to get ready and I dont want to miss too many days.

Amaze Yourself.

I hope to do some yoga today. I had planned to run at lunch but went home sick yesterday (really bad sore throat and just plain tired) and am still not 100% today. So running might not be the best idea. I could really use some yoga, though.

Hillary

Hilary I can totally relate, three days a week my parents are in town to help with the girls and they come at 7:00 to take the girls for a walk and coffee (for the parents not babies) and I always want to make this my run time, but sometimes their feedings run late or I have bottles (I also pump sometimes) or household things to do that can't get done because of the babies and the run gets put on hold. I have promised myself that 4 times a week I must make an effort, I like running the best because I get away from the house and I don't feel so pulled to play with the babies or soothe a crying baby, but with the heat sometimes a workout tape has to do.

Nice job, KREILLY!!! I'm impressed that you're preparing for a 5K.

I realized the other day that it's not that I don't have time to work out. It's just never the RIGHT time. Because I'm exclusively breastfeeding, all my workouts need to be planned around nursing/pumping in part for Graham and in part for my comfort. Take this morning: I was up at 6 with the dog. I would have LOVED to run before it got hot, but there was no way that was going to happen until I fed the boy. I could have pumped, I suppose, but now that I'm back to work full time, I love that time in the morning nursing my cutie. By the time he got up, I fed him, we played with him, and then back down for a nap, the sun was in full effect. So, I did the Jillian Michaels Shred level 2 (which is a butt kicker). But I really wanted to run. :(

Love,
Hillary

Went for my first run in over 7 months and realized very quickly I need a new sports bra (nursing has changed my shape emoticon ). I ran very, very slowly but it felt great to be back out there, I have signed up for a 5K at the end of August! Today I did 45 minutes of Turbo Fire, it feels great to be able to do a little more each day, although I haven't been back to the doctor for my 6 weeks post c-section (although I am over 8 weeks post) so I still do a lot of the moves modified.

LISSOME - I'm impressed!! I'm such a slowpoke - that's faster than I ran pre-pregnancy :)

I did 50 minutes of yoga on Saturday. On Sunday, I went for a 2.5 mile walk/jog. I just hate running in the summer. It's not even the heat so much (which is bad enough) but the sun. Running in the hot sun just makes me feel pretty awful. Luckily, I got out early enough that I still had some shade as the sun was making its way overhead.

Love,
Hillary

Ran 2.53 miles this morning at about an 8:45 pace. I have a race on Saturday, so this run was a bit shorter than usual. A sort-of-taper run.

Finally got cleared for exercise, although no running until 8 weeks after babies. With the twins, I am going to have to concentrate on working out at home I did my Turbo Fire Fit Test today and a 30 minute Turbo Fire DVD. I've lost all my pregnancy weight, but things just don't seem to be in the same shape as before :(.

Geogirl I am impressed you have been back running, I am looking forward to it. Hilary I wish I did more yoga I actually find it too difficult but it is such a great workout.

Graham and I took the dog for a 20 minute walk. Then I dropped Graham at the house with his daddy and I went for a 17 minute run. I was hoping for 20 minutes but apparently the route that I did got me home in 17, so that's where I stopped :) I did 20 modified pushups (which were challenging since my triceps were already sore from yoga on Sunday), and a series of crunches.

Hillary

Thanks for the welcome Hillary, it is nice to be back and feeling like life will be "normal" again someday.

Today is some much needed stretching to recover from yesterdays run, my poor hamstrings! I just spent most of the day at the hospital with the babies, 60 days already!

Happy Sunday to all,

Nice work!! Today I walked the dog then did a 30 minute aerobic workout from OnDemand. I wanted to run, but the baby's nap/feeding schedule was a little off this morning (he is a sleepy boy today) and by the time he got up to eat, it was already a bit warmer out than I would have liked for running.

Hillary

Hi GEOGIRL!!!!! I've been thinking a lot about you and the babies lately and wondering howe you were all doing. I'm incredibly impressed that you ran 5K on your first time out - that is a great accomplishment! And I'm so happy for you that you're able to get at least a little time to do something good for yourself. Welcome back!

I went out for my first post pregnancy run today, I ran 5k and then walked 5k...I wanted to run the whole thing but my knee wasn't so fond of that idea. Its going to be a long road back to running but I look forward to the challenge and the stress relief I feel when I can get out and run.

I didn't work out much this week...I went back to work and my parent's were visiting, so my schedule was all off. Next week I'm back to work full time, which for me actually means more time to exercise because I can work out at lunch (the beauty of working at a college is access to a gym and showers). I did, however, have a short run yesterday. I would have gone for longer except I went just a couple hours after eating a large sandwich and drinking a beer. My lungs and legs felt great, my stomach did not!

Hillary

Sounds fun! lol I love working out with my toddler, it is funny to watch them try all the different moves. It must be working though because my 3 year old will tell me he wants to exercise even if im not so I will put a DVD in and he will exercise for 20 minutes before walking away :-) I did Yoga Warrior with Bob today.

I went to the gym with my husband today, we did the treadmill, spin bike, elliptical, rowing machine and weights. That gave us 2 hours and 1200 calories burned at the gym. Right now we are taking the kids to the lake so we will walk down there and back and then I will walk to work tonight. That will put me at about 190 minutes for the day.

Awesome!! I've been doing some "Graham presses" where I lift him up and down. Since he's almost 16 lbs (at only 2 months - he's a whopper), it's a serious arm workout. Today I did a 30 minute aerobics video.

I did a 20 minute cardio workout on Comcast yesterday. It felt good to sweat intentionally (and not just from the raging pregnancy/breastfeeding hormones). I did better than I thought with the cardio, although I was surprised today that my legs were SORE! Darn squats. Even though I do squats and leg strengtheners in yoga, I don't do them quickly...

I'm itching to get running again, but I opted to not get a jogging stroller, which means I'm not able to run unless my husband is home....so far the timing just hasn't worked out...

Now that we've introduced a bottle to Graham, I'm able to get some walks with the dog in the evening while my husband feeds the baby. I'm much quicker on my walks when there isn't a 12 lb baby strapped to my front!

Love,
Hillary

I am excited to say that yesterday I went for a 20 minute run--my first postpartum! Main issue was, ahem, leakage :( Also went on a huge hour-long stroller walk with daddy & the pup.

Today I'm going to try for another big walk!

I took Graham in the stroller for a 2.25 mile walk. It was both good and challenging. It was a warm day yesterday and I did a hilly route....man did I feel out of shape!!! But good to be out moving. I get some side stitches, not from being out of breath or anything, but it feels a little like my insides are jiggling...is that weird? I think everything that got all stretched out is now trying to find its way back...

Love,
Hillary

The bowling ball feeling pretty much sums it up. I went on another walk yesterday afternoon - it was an unseasonably warm 80 degrees! My arms and legs felt like lead. But I went for a little over a mile. No baby.

This morning went for a walk and was feeling pretty good until my dog saw a rabbit, went nuts, jerked in front of me and I toppled over him. The dog is bred to hunt rabbits, so what should I expect? But still. Baby seems fine - he's been moving quite a bit, but I am very sore and have a banged up hand.

What scares me is that I'd like to walk with the baby in my Moby or the Baby Bjorn, but if I fall because of the stupid dog with the baby on the outside, he could be seriously hurt. I guess I''ll have to always use the stroller when walking the dog.

Love,
Hillary

The day that I had Gideon, I took a walk for about a mile and felt the whole time like he was sitting really low. That "bowling ball" feeling. Went into labor that evening, and it went very quickly. So maybe that's a good sign Hillary!

Yesterday I went on several dog walks and remarkably my hips didn't kill. This morning I walked the dog and the baby was sitting really low and it hurt. Although he seems to have moved off of whatever he was sitting on. It's a warm day (finally), so there may be another walk in my future....assuming it doesn't thunder storm like they're predicting...

Love,
Hillary

Those women are beasts, and I am SO impressed.
This girl was an elementary school friend of mine, and she's a bit of an Amazon, so I was already in awe. emoticon

Congrats Aileen!!! My PR is just under 30, so I am super impressed. You should feel so proud! My friend and I were just laughing the other day about the women pushing strollers who run faster than us...

The run went great!
I had one small wardrobe malfunction that cost me a bit of time, but I was able to finish in 30:17. That's a couple of minutes faster than my fastest timing of myself prior to the race!
However, I was beaten (in my age group) by a woman pushing TWO boys in a stroller.
I take that as a challenge for next time. emoticon

I'll probably do the Shiva Rae DVD since I'm actually staying home from work. I've already walked the dog - it was a little short because it's raining, but I walked a little faster. I may go wander around the mall today looking at the clothes that I will hopefully soon fit into again!

Love,
Hillary

Well now I really feel guilty. I slept through my yoga class this morning, which is too bad because I only have a few left weeks of it left. But I plan to do some on my own tonight while I am waiting on a stew to cook.

I have the Shiva Rae yoga DVD and Elements yoga DVD - they both have a pre-natal and post-natal routine. The Elements yoga is 25 minutes, but a little more continuous movement than the Shiva Rae 50 minute routine. I did Elements last night because that's what I had time for.

Hillary

Shelley, I think you're doing great keeping up with fitness with those three babies! It must be hard to give up the running, but I think it is amazing that you're doing what's best for you and those babies!

Hillary, that is awesome that you're still doing the yoga I hope to do it up until the day -- what a great way to get the body ready for labor!!

This morning I did 50 min of Shiva Rae Prenatal Yoga. I like that one!!

Sadly my only exercise these days is walking...but at least I do a lot of it! I walked at lunch, after work and then we took the dogs out in the evening.

Smiling just makes everyones day better :)

I'm proud to say that at 40 weeks and 2 days pregnant, yesterday I walked the dog in the morning and did 30 minutes of prenatal yoga last night!
