Finally --- after months & months of "playing around" with the same five to eight pounds!

Amazing what a bit of determination to "mind one's p's & q's" will do, isn't it?

God bless!

I understand the feelings. Perhpas it takes another committment by you to get you back on your trail. Sometimes that's all it takes. Tell yourself you have work to do! The work is your plan of a healthy lifestyle. Then get busy like you are working for someone else. Don't let anything get in your way or change you course.

True, you probably have to go to work somewhere besides home - you are a teacher, right? I know you have two daughters - that's an armload right there. So do what you have to with them, but treat yourself the same. If they were doing something harmful to themselves, and they can because they don't know, you would stop them and teach them why they don't want to touch the hot burner on the stove or climb into the washer to go for a ride, etc. When you go after that something that you know before you put it in your mouth, that you don't really want it because it isn't part of your plan, then drop it in trash and consider it gone. You count as much as your children. If you are not there, what happens to them?

One thing naval officers learn is that the ship comes first. It has too. Without it, they are all dead. You are your families ship. Without you ...

Have a good one and I know you can do it ES! You just have to push yourself.

Well - let's get this started again. I am feeling pretty good about myself today because I lost 5 pounds since I came home from New England and stopped using Splenda. So happy I followed my instincts on that one!

Anyway, I'd write a blog, but I hate putting my page public again so I haven't. Maybe after I get it all written just right, I'll go public with my findings - I am positive I am not the only one that had the problem as it was stated that Splenda users were finding that they could no longer lose weight.

Anyway, great start for me. 5 pounds in one week! emoticon

Have a Sparkling Day!

I haven't updated in a bit. When I arrived home from vacation I found my weight at 207 lbs. My goal is to loose 4 lbs by Sept. 1st. I also plan to stay off the scale so I don't get frustrated with the ups and downs. Hoping to post in Sept. that I am at 203 lbs or less. :)

I weighed this morning so I could start June with a marker. (I forgot to do it yesterday.) I am at 188, so I gained 1 lb while I was away in Spokane. The surprising part it was only a lb since I did very little 'real' exercise, though lots of going up and down stairs at my daughter'shouse. :) I think I am heading into a moon cycle so I actually may be able to see a smaller number when that ends. It's so hard to count on that, what with a certain number of years and hormonal shifts...no more 28 days without fail. :) I am DEFINITELY into size 16s pants though. Yay! I'm looking forward to putting the 18s in a give away box!

Congrats GinnJenn on the success! You will do it, I am sure of it! :) I have gone up one more lb. (191). I have not been tracking my food and is going to be one of my goals this summer. Right now, I need to become more aware of my body. My mental body (bigger) doesn't match with my actual body (smaller). Right now I am trying to see myself as I am really now pay attention to my clothes sizes. For example, it is time to get rid of that 26w swimsuit and look for a new one that is around a 18-20W.

CongratsGinnJen..I didnt see your post at first! GREAT JOB...I know you can do it. Im sure you'll make your goal and then some!!

I too go on the scale EVERY DAY...My kids threaten to take it away...For the first 2 weeks when I joined the gym...I didnt lose a SINGLE pound and I was doing cardio everyday and hadnt had soda..
It wasnt until someone at the gym told me at they gym about SP...and when I started tracking the weight started coming off.

Yesterday I went on scale and i was at 150.3...but that IS NOT good..I am losing too fast and have not been eating enough calories the past 3 days. I know that means i'll end up gaining..Been a stressful couple of days. Wish me luck.

Well yesterday I came in at 190 lbs. Not surprised with lack of exercise for a week due to resting my foot which never got better and I will admit munching on some fattening treats. Starting up a challenge with some ladies at work and hoping to getting back on track.

I weigh myelf more often than I should I am sure. My ego cant take it some morning but it does seem to help me be a bit more mindful of just what I am trying to accomplish here. I know that I want to lose the weight. So the numbers have to go down. I dont however just go by the numbers anymore. I used to, now its how do I feel overall and how is my body changing which it is, for the good and the bad lol.

I weigh myself every morning, probably not the the best thing some people would say; but I find it really keeps me accountable and also helps to keep me mindful of what I'm eating during the day.

And I agree the clothes industry is INSANELY skewed .... I recently bought a pair of size 10s in one brand yet in another brand a size 13 is too small ?????

The clothes industry is screwy one company says a size whatever is this and the next says nope its this. It leaves you where you have no choice but to try it on. I personally am not a huge fan of shopping for clothes even now that I have lost 30lbs. I hope as the weight is less and less it will become better but I doubt it. That is okay though I know it is not about the clothes in the end anyway.

I use the scale when the mood strikes, which fortunately isn't often. :) Last time I weighed it read 192lb. Yesterday I made some measurements, because I am definitely noticing that my clothes are fitting (or not) differently so that measurement might serve me better. My 18s jeans are too big and my 16s are yet too small...sucks to be in the middle of sizes. :/

You can do this as you see fit, some people weigh daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or sporadicly as they dont have access to a scale. However and whenever it works for you feel free to come here and record it. To encourage and support one another too.
