Try out the SP exercise of the day, at least three times this week!

Good question, I was wondering the same.. all I have is 5 lbs weights and resistance bands...

Do resistance bands count as strenght training?? I am having money issues right now and couldn't afford my gym membership this month. Let me know please.

Never regret, regrets mean you never learned the lesson you were supposed to. Instead of getting even, make them miserable by being happy despite their attempts to rain on your parade.

Whoops! I guess I lost track of time! Here's a challenge for the rest of the week. Strength train at least once this week. If you already strength train, add a new exercise that you haven't done before. It's always good to mix things up now and then!

Ooof! That's something to be aware of I guess.

I'm very thankful that I haven't had a health reason to watch my sodium yet, although I have started tracking it so that I don't go too crazy...

And vegetarian lasagna sounds really yummy.

Even some whole foods are high in sodium. I made a vegetarian lasagna earlier this week and despite the small amount of cheese I used, the sodium content was almost 1,000! I made it out of all whole foods. The only prepackaged stuff I used was lasagna noodles, pasta sauce, and a small amount of tofu.

I've noticed that if I eat out, even if I get something healthy, calorie-wise, it's always loaded with sodium. Packaged and processed foods as well!

For me this is another argument to eat primarily whole foods.

I'm not doing well so far! I never realized how much stuff has so much sodium in it! Yesterday I was over 3,000mg of sodium! Today I'm trying to do better!

This week's challenge is to track a nutrient and try and stay within the recommended range for that nutrient. Many women have problems getting enough calcium and iron and most people have problems getting enough fiber.

I've been tracking those, so I will try and remain within sodium guidelines. I've been doing horrible with thatlately!

I figured it's be time to resurrect this thread.

The challenge for this week (December 30th - January 5th) is to add 5 minutes to your current fitness time.

If you don't do fitness each week do 5 minutes of fitness 3 times this week. It can be as simple as going for a walk, just do it.

For this week (august 12 till august 18) I would like you all to read the following article:
http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/well
ness_articles.asp?id=237

And then do as it says: Make a journal where you write 5 good things about yourself each day! It doesnt have to be a handwritten journal, like the article states. You may also do it in your SparkBlog or any other place online. Or private in a word document.

Post your progress here :) You may post your actual entries here is well but it isnt required if you want to keep it private :)

Ok, it's been awhile, so I guess it's time for a new challenge. Our new challenge is to do something spiritual every day. I know with my to-do list and working out and everything else that I need to do on a daily basis, spirituality sometimes ends up on the back burner.

So this week's challenge is to find something you've been neglecting spiritually and do it. You can read that book you've been putting off, practice Reiki, meditate, do energy work, or research something that you've been interested in but haven't had the time to investigate.

I'm not sure which I'll choose, but I'll let you all know!

My challenge is to keep up my reiki streak. I have to do reiki 21 days in a row to make it mine. I am at day 3 now.

Its like this with all techniques you learn. Like meditation, visualisation and more.
In the first 7 days you mind will fight the new habit. You will get distracted and its easy to give up because it doesnt work after the first few times.
In the next 7 days you master the basics of the habit but not fully yet.
After the last 7 days, you have mastered the habit and you can move on to the advanced bits of the technique which brings you into the next 21 day cycle :)

Well, I did my step-by-step plan, but I still haven't taken the first step yet. It's been a busy week for me... it seems like my weeks are always busy! I'll try and make room for it tomorrow.

Way to go, While I'm just back from Summer Fest - it was witchstock theme, very fun - just a little wet. Next up I am going on vacation for a week, then maybe I will get a spot cleaned up for my crafts and start finishing some projects.

Oh, I am up for this challenge.. I was just talking to a good friend about this topic..

I have some scrapbook and card projects that I am wanting to get started with, but my space is so disorganized that I am avoiding starting them..
SO.. I too am going to make a clear list of what I want to create and do..

Start daughter's next scrapbook
Start son's next SB
start Family's next SB

Before that I need to clearly sort the pictures
into which albums they will go.. and then start creating....

If I get that all ready.. Next I want to make extra
birthday, thank you.. Misc cards...
I did buy a Card organizer.. it goes by month ..
~ So to enter all the date of birthdays and anniversary's that I want to remember...

Okay, this challenge is near and dear to my heart. Everything in my house is half done. It is a construction zone. This is not considering knitting and sewing projects for fun and relaxation... oh no.

*cough*

This week I will finish plastering the ceiling in the spare bedroom.

It has been said. In public even. Tomorrow morning will see a scratch coat. This counts as a workout, right? *hopes*

My goal for the week is to actually start a scrapbook instead of simply buying things to go in one! lol

And to work on the cookbook I am creating for my bF's xmas gift

My goal is to get all of the various half-finished craft projects that are lying around my apartment completed. Here are my steps:

1. List all craft projects that will need completion with approximate time it will take to complete.
2. Create an order for getting them completed.
3. Follow the order from #2.
4. Set aside time each day to work on a craft.
5. DO NOT START ANY NEW CRAFTS UNTIL THESE ARE FINISHED!

I've moved the weekly challenge here, so new members will have an easy time finding our various challenges.

For those of you who are new to this challenge, every Saturday someone posts a new challenge. It doesn't have to be me. It's just whoever posts it first, so if you have inspiration next Saturday, go for it! Anyways, then people who are participating often post their progress.

It being a new week, here's a new challenge: create a goal for yourself, either medium-term or long-term. Create a plan for achieving that goal and take the first steps this week.

It doesn't have to be weight related. It could be to pay off your credit card debt, organize your attic, or get a more satisfying job. The point is to find one and work on achieving it.
