I only started the seven-day veggie detox yesterday. It's going well so far. It never occurred to me just how few calories veggies have! I didn't get in my calorie range yesterday. I'm going to work really hard today to ensure that I am in my calorie range today! If you're interested in the details, check out my blog!

I had lots of veggies last week: 47 points

Next week's challenge:

A lack of sleep can hinder reaching your weight-loss goals. Sleep is the time that your body uses to repair the tiny tears in your muscle tissue that are created by exercise and strength training. Those who haven't gotten enough sleep tend to eat more than those who have. This week, figure out how much sleep your body needs and get at least that much. If you're not sure, start with 8 hours. That's how much MOST bodies need.

Give yourself 5 points if you got enough sleep the night before. Give yourself an extra point if you got the sleep continuously (meaning you didn't get 6 hours of sleep, then took a 2 hour nap in the afternoon).

I'm shooting for 7 hours of sleep (as I normally get 6 or less).

Wow... you ate SO many veggies last week Autumn! :) How was the detox diet?

Due to the time of day I sleep and my son, I will never be able to get all of my hours in a continuous block. Usually I do well on 5 to 7 hrs of sleep a day (it will vary back and forth between the two).

5/26: 5hrs & 2hrs, 5pts
5/27: 6hrs, 6pts

If it makes you breathe hard and/or sweat, you can count it as exercise. I figured that should make it acceptable for people of all fitness levels.

Some examples for me:

If I (personally) walk slow, I don't breathe hard and it wouldn't count. If I walk fast, I do breathe hard, so it counts.

So for strength training I know I (personally) would count it when I do circuit training, or if I do rapid reps without a break. I know nothing about pilates, so I'll let you use your judgment on that one.

The way this challenge will work is every Sunday a new challenge will be posted. You will earn points by following that challenge. There will be weekly winners and monthly winners. Anyone can join any time so whoever has the most points by the end of the week will be a weekly winner. Those who have the most points at the end of the month will be a monthly winner. The challenges will run from Monday-Sunday.
