I totally agree, weight lifting makes such a huge difference in the appearance of the body. I believe it looks more natural; the way we were made to carry our body weight. I look forward to toning up myself. :)
Congrats on those 28 pounds, Toothful99! And yes, figuring it all out on how to maintain a healthly weight is so important, but it's life and you learn as ya go. I love your ticker by the way...I want my numbers to be there one day. :)
I held my weight over the winter, at least inside a few lbs either way. But really, that's my plan. I figure sooner or later I won't be looking to lose any more weight so I better be training myself to hold steady. I don't want to be in a constant state of losing or gaining.
Even while not really losing any weight, since joining the gym at the first of the year, people are saying it looks like I have lost weight.
I haven't lost weight. I have just lost more blubber and started stimulating my muscles again.
I am really excited to see what happens over the summer as I continue my strength training added to my walking routine which averages 27 or so miles a week.
My anticipation is the added bulk is going to really ramp up my metabolism, which I hope is the final step in this metamorphosis of sorts.
Even though I've gotten down to my goal weight, I don't consider it a success story. I've been here before and gained again. I know how to diet. I'm now teaching myself how to keep my new good habits without sliding back into bad habits.

I'd love to hear some great success stories from dropping some weight, to maintaining through out the winter, to even sticking with your workout plan for a couple of days. There's nothing too small to celebrate when it comes to life changes!
I'll go ahead and start...I put on about 15 pounds over the winter due to lack of activity and stress. I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation...I'm ready to shed the extra weight and get back on track. I'm now down 5 pounds, and what a joy it is to see it gone! I need a great deal more practice on my calorie intake and I'm looking forward to getting into a good spring/summer workout routine. The time is now, and I'm makin' it happen!!
