I got side tracked for a few months and was not even logging in to Spark, keeping track of my foods, or excising. I was just working, working, working, and getting more and more stressed out. I came home from work, had wine or cranberry and vodka (sometimes drank up to 3 glasses, depending on how stressed out I was) but that is my limit - 3 glasses. Then I would eat dinner and go to bed, wake up at 5:00 a.m. the next day and start the same routine over.

My weight got up to where it was when I first joined Spark (my heaviest weight ever).
I had to get my crap back together... so May22, I took my last drink (have not had one since) and started back on Spark. I have lost 6 pounds, eating right and working out again.

I feel so much better.

Last month at this time I was so stressed that I couldn't work out. Today I worked out for 2 hours.

I was walking around the park 1 time
My blood sugar was not good at all

Today:
I am up to 3 times around the park
My blood sugar is greatly improved, thanks to the meds for now, hopefully as I lose weight I won't need to rely on the meds

From 2 months ago & Now

THEN:
Sluggish, Hard to get Motivated, Eating who knows what, Not much hope

NOW:
Exercise Routine Mon - Fri including Cardio & Strength
Logging & Aiming for a particular Caloric goal range
Made progress weight wise toward goal
Mentally stronger
Hopeful

Okay, I am a very detail oriented person so here it goes:

1. I was just trying to track my nutrition on SP. Went from that to really looking at every label on every kind of food that I could in my house! I was so shocked at portion sizes and calories! I don't buy junk food, but calories add up so fast with healthy food too! So, now I am keeping my breakfast and lunches at around 300 calories, 2 snacks at 100 calories each, and dinner at around 400 calories. So I am trying a 1200 calorie diet.

Breakfast 300
am snack 100
Lunch 300
pm snack 100
dinner 400

2. Exercise....
I started out small. Like walking on treadmill at 3.0mph for five minutes, then slowly built up to 100 minutes. HOWEVER, I am finding circuit training gets me more for my buck (or minute?) .

I am doing HIIT and it is making me wake up to better ways to burn calories. I am going to Jillian Michaels (spelling?) in May. CIRCUIT training!

So, I am slowly going to build up from 20min of circuit training to 38 min of circuit training in 8 weeks with HIIT program.

Here's why:
Treadmill: 3 mph (20 minutes per mile) 20 minutes 81 calories burned
Versus
Circuit training (including boot camp workouts) 20 minutes 207 calories burned


It is a slow build up process. I started out just walking on treadmill for 5 minutes and slowly built up.

The more I look at those numbers, The more I want to change them! We'll see how it goes, I am ready to take my workout to the next level!

3. I drink more than 2.2 L of H2O a day. I am so thirsty now because of working out so much more!

4. I sleep so much better. I am in bed by 8pm and my kids are getting better sleep.

OMG the things I could list of what has changed. I feel like I would be here all day.

I learned more about what I eat and how much I eat.
I learned to find fun exercises that I enjoy
I learned that just because I'm dieting does not mean I have to go without and found ways to make food enjoyable that I love to eat.
I have learned that because I'm tired/exhausted that it's okay to take a rest and not beat myself up for it.
I learned that by doing this by myself I encouraged my husband to try to loss weight too.

When I started 2013 I hated exercise and didn't do it at all. I think it was my idea of exercise was going to a gym. Through SP and the encouragement of some of our members I learned different ways to exercise that are really fun. Now I exercise all the time

What I have learner about myself thanks to my alergist is I am no longer to citrus.

Keeping involved with spark people is a great motivator. I so went off track when I was not here. No matter what my schedule is checking in even if I do not post is an asset.

Learning that it's not only the calories that count but also what the calories are made up of. I eat less meat and more freggies and complex carbs instead of simple carbs. Learning to eat properly gives me more energy and feel better.

Biggest change? I actually DO the fitness daily. And, I eat many servings of fresh fruit...because I now enjoy fruit, it is no longer a chore. (or baked into a dessert)
