I struggle with the whiners who complain about their plateaus, so I roll my eyes and ridicule them about their misplaced motivation.

That is a wonderful idea, Popeye.

But it can't be done...because everyone would accuse me of favoritism, and then they would put in their bids to have other thread names changed. I would spend all my spare time making executive-type decisions as to whose idea was better, while at the same time trying to keep things "fair." It's just one of those 'slippery slope' issues.

Oh...and also because SparkPeople technology does not allow for us to edit thread titles, only edit our own individual posts.

Of couse the only way that Sarcastics are losers is in the sense of poundage gently encouraged to follow the bread crumbs out of the forest of our fat cells. (That sentence makes complete sense, right?)

Since we started this blog, something has been crawling around in my brain, tickling spots here and there. I have finally pinned it down.

Isn't the title to this thread somehow demeaning to Sarcastic's?

I mean, doesn't "Lampooning the Other Losers" bring up the question of exactly who do we mean. Does it imply that we, too, are losers.

We all know what is meant by the title, but does it put off new members? WE know we aren't losers, but do new members think this is a thread where "some of us" have doubts about our superiority?

Would changing the title of this thread to "Lampooning Losers" change the feeling one gets by the other title?

An advantage is that the title I have suggested is that it is alliterative - how many losers can even define the word alliterative?

Even more alliterative would be "Lampooning Losers Lost in La-la Land".

What do y'all think?

Hate hate hate the obsessive 'Rah Rah Rah, you can do it !!!!!! ' teams and thinking !

How the hell do you know I can do it ?? I am in a super negative mood today, so the thought of anybody telling me I can do it, when I have been 'doing it ' with virtually no results, make me either want to hurl all over the offender or smack the ( fill in with appropriate rude word here ) out of them !

Don't worry about time, for it is, will be and forever was.

The only thing that matters is where (when?) in time you chose to be.

The only constraint is you cannot be in two places at the same time. You may choose to be in the past or the future (before your birth and after your death), but never in the present again. Since you had never been here and just stepped off the boat of time, you were allowed to be here because you were never "here" before (it has to do with some technical corollary).

If you choose to visit the past or the future - or both, your visit then becomes part of your present and the rule applies.

This was how it was explained to me during my visit to the genius, Einstein. He also showed me the mathematical principle on which this is based, but I didn't have a notebook.

I struggle with rampant vapidness, so I dope slap the offenders.

I struggle with the overly chirpy girls who say "Ohhhh mah gawd, I shouldn't eat this because I will get sooooo fat, I mean, ohhhhh mah gawd, I would just get soooo huge, like I'd be like a size 2 or something"... so I push their face down in the pie they're ohhhh-mah-gawding about.

I struggle with people who say they hate snow, so I hit them with a nicely packed snowball.

I struggle with people who say there is no hell, so I send them to my cousin's unsanitary house.

I struggle with people who ask me if I know Jesus, so I tell them he's on the landscaping crew. (I struggle with these people because my religious views are my own and I don't think I need to have an open conversation with a stranger about them.)

Only idiots laugh at jokes. Every joke ever told is a put down of someone. However, some jokes about idiots are funny, making it difficult for non-idiots to maintain their stature.

Good one Popeye! This is priceless.

I'll have to come back later and fill in the blanks...busy right now.

And sure other teams may be losing weight faster. But it's because their heads are filled with air, and air doesn't weigh as much as the brains in our heads. Add the extra weight from all the sarcasm we are filled with, and it explains the difference.

Oh Doulton, you could be a hero of the Sarcastics. A Knight in slimy green armor. Your rallying flag a box of chocolate, rampant, on a field of virgin white silk. Your banners proclaiming "Stupid is as stupid Does".

I'm pretty good at snap backs, but continuous and coherent responses require me to (I think I'm going to have a headache) think.

"I struggle with _____, so I _____."

I struggle with contempt, so I spit at people?

I struggle with contemporary society, so I would like to revive the honorable old customs of tar and feather, draw and quarter, and dunk and drown.

I struggle with emoticons and my daily need to pretend that I can post them;

Mostly, I struggle with an inability to say the word "awesome" without sounding as if I have uttered the crudest of obscenities.

I struggle with stupidity. I don't mind admitting that I have my fair share, but I hate seeing people who think they are exempt from this universal curse.

Is this what you have in mind? Or am I off?

Yes, I'm talking about the other teams that have really rah-rah enthusiasm...you know, the really sappy stuff.
emoticon

Anybody besides me just want to gack over all this? I know...wrong group, huh? Well, at least (as Popeye pointed out on another thread) having the dry heaves gives you a great core workout.

So I got this email the other day with a new thread starting on one of 'those' teams:
"I struggle with _____, so I _____." with an invitation to fill in the blanks.

emoticon
My challenges to you are:
1. Fill in the blanks as only this team is capable of. Anyone who takes this seriously and 'gives good advice' will live to regret it.
2. Post some of these icky motivational messages that you find on your other teams so that we may enjoy giving them 'the treatment.' (Don't identify the team they came from because we don't want to leave any kind of trail, should an 'investigation' result.)

Sure, these other teams have members that are losing weight faster than us, but come on...is it really worth it?
