Confession time - I've been a vegetarian for over 20 years, and vegan for nearly 2...... and I've NEVER tried tempeh. Something about it intimidates me.
But I was browsing veganhealth.org
and came across a discussion of the amino acid lysine (called - "the limiting protein for vegans" - on the website) and saw that tempeh had the highest listing for this amino acid of all the foods listed.
So.... I figure it is time to roll it out. I bought a big sausage roll configuration ("natural" flavor) of it from the local health food store, as well as some tempeh "bacon" which I assume is flavored.
Now, I have no idea what to do with it! lol.
I've been reading some recipes, but I was wondering if you guys would mind sharing your go-to tempeh recipe with me. I'm looking for things that are easy, and not too intimidating for my first go-around.
