We picked them up at a local health food store. This is the website: www.sophieskitchen.net/

They are also available online at www.veganessentials.com but if you can find them locally you do, of course, save the shipping.

And thank you all for your comments! :)

Where do you get these items from? I know that Garneir puts out meatless chicken nugget and paddies as well as beef tips and a few other but that is all I have found. Would be interested in the fish and shrimp alternatives.

How nice of you to provide such a thorough review of these products.

I'll also add them to my list of "rarely," but they may also just do the trick for someone in my home who isn't quite vegan yet.

Thank you again.

Product Review: Sophie's Kitchen Vegan Breaded Fish Fillets and Breaded Shrimp
We tried both of these tonight.

The Fish Fillets
Paul's Opinion: The texture on them seemed like a fillet. The taste was good overall. They were a bit dry, though.
Will's Opinion: I thought they were fairly dense. Rather fillet-like, but a bit chewier. I agree about the taste. They were pretty good, but as a friend pointed out, you won't mistake them for fish.

The Shrimp
Paul's Opinion: Chewy. Looked like shrimp. I've never had real shrimp so cannot compare the taste. They tasted good.
Will's Opinion: They had a nice chew to them. Like the fish you won't mistake them for real shrimp, but good in their own right. The breading on them was quite tasty. We did, however, have one issue with them: They were frozen together in a clump. I did not read the part about thawing them in the refrigerator and put them in the microwave to defrost, which caused parts of the breading to peel off.

Nutrition wise these products are both pretty high in fat, but low in sodium. We will add them to our list of things to have on special occasions, but wouldn't buy them on a regular basis.

Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I can.
