I has been a long while in the happening but we finally did a race together and really enjoyed it. Turns out we have a common interest involving fitness.

That is wonderful that you are learning more about each other, and about your healthy habits each day!

The cooler is a great idea!

We discovered a few years back that, when we are travelling, it is quite easy to keep a small cooler with mayo and margarine, or mustard, with some picnic knives and spoons, and go to a grocery store and purchase some lean deli meats and healthy buns, and some fresh fruit or baby carrots, with individual tubs of yoghurt, for a healthy, inexpensive lunch instead of going through drive throughs. Sure saved some upset stomachs on the road!

Today was a real eye opener for both of us when I mentioned to my husband we should change up our eating. We live in a urban area where it is just as fast to go to the grocery store as it is to go get take out or sit in. The thing is on his days off we spend so much time doing things that we get hungry and want immediate fulfillment. I have a cooler I keep for me in the car and I am going to prepare more ready to eat meals for those moments. He asks me if I want to grab a bite to eat because he thinks I want to and I say yes because I think he wants to, and really, we are both thinking of a healthier at home meal. Lack of communication was a problem we didn't even know we had. We just wanted to make each other happy and we were wrong. We agreed occasionaly is okay but to have to look forward to at home so were not tempted into fast food.

The possibilities always outnumber the problems.
