I bet! I am sure you were very instrumental in helping her to get back into the game.

Thank you for the kindness. She is better and after a couple of days of being depressed she still went to the pool and worked out. It was nice seeing her smile again.

Oh! How upsetting. After all her (and your) hard work, to be insulted by negative comments is so frustrating.

I will go and pop over to her page asap...

In the meantime, continue to do what you are doing to be supportive and positive. This is not an easy journey, and having to deal with negative people is too much to handle sometimes!

Do you live really close to her mother? Does she need to be seen frequently? Or can you avoid visits for a while? Does your wife have another ally besides you in the family? Can you enlist their help?

Good luck to you as you continue to support your wife through this tricky time!

Hello folks,
My name is Charles and I'm really new to this group but I expect ya'll to be ready to help. My wife has been doing an excellent job exercising, encouraging me to also and feeding us healthy meals. It has been six months since we have both been on this journey together and she is feeling very discouraged this week. Her mother made some very disparaging comments and she's been depressed since then.
Her spark people name is lovingwife120 and she could surely use some engouraging messages from folks on here as well as from me. I love her very much and I am trying to be encouraging. Please help if you can. It will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!
