That sounds like great goals for the rest of the year!

Yeah, sometimes an illness can help to "kickstart" us closer to our goals.

Ha, definitely not! But because of it I'm .2 pounds from my goal weight for the year. But my goal for the rest of the year is not a number but focusing more on making healthy food choices and exercising. More or less being healthy in general.
Thanks!

Wow! Sorry I have been MIA for the past weeks.... It's been crazy and I've been under the weather for almost a month now. Being sick has made the weight drop off of me like crazy. I've lost like 10 pounds or so because of the sickness. Thankfully I'm starting to feel better but I'm still not 100%. Hopefully I'll be around a little more now.

I made it home from conference. I didn't get in workouts like I planned (with the execption of a lot of walking from building to building) but was able to control myself and while I usually have a big weight gain after conference I kept it to 1 pound. I'm pretty proud of that....I know it's a gain but it's not the usually BIG gain so I can deal with a pound.

Good for you for researching exercise opportunities while away! That is showing where your priorities are, and your mind and body now know it!

I am still eating within calorie range on a daily basis, and getting better at staying withing all my nutrient guidelines. *phew* Never thought I could do that. Honestly, it is only with God's help!

It's been a crazy week, next week is going to be busy too. I was able to work out 4 days since Sunday. I feel pretty good about that. My eating hasn't been as good as it should but I'm working on it.
My biggest worry is we are leaving town for a few days. My hubby has a conference that he is going to. I love going to these but I usually end up gaining weight. I've already gone on-line and checked out the fitness center at the resort we are at. They also have hiking trails (which I'm really excited about) and tennis courts. I know someone who is going and bringing their 19 year old niece. She likes to play tennis so I'll keep her entertained while sessions are going on. Just hope she's prepared...I'm terrible at tennis. I love to play but I suck.
Long story short I will not be home to weigh in this week. I'll be home Thursday and fill you in on how it goes.

Everyone is being so quiet this week, how are your weeks going?

I am doing much better now that I bought some snack food for my apartment. Before I was hungry in the evening and I had calories left for something but I only had meal type foods, so I was eating way too many calories at night because of it.

5 days this week is good. I think as long as you're working out on a regular basis it doesn't hurt if you go over on your calories. I think you need to have a "cheat" day every once in a while so you don't get burned out and quit all together.

Went over my calories by 700 yesterday :S But I won't let it ruin my week. And as long as I stay within my calorie goal today, I'll still be about 2000 calories under maintenance level. So I should still have some sort of loss this week.

On a positive note... I worked out 5 days this week. :)

I'm doing pretty good. I've worked out every day this week. It's been difficult with the weather in Michigan right now. It's been in the mid nineties with the heat index above 100. Very difficult to do much of anything. Luckily my elliptical is right in front of the window air conditioner.
The big test for me will be the weekend, that's when I start to slack. Luckily we have no real plans this weekend....no parties or open houses so I will be able to track my food.

Where did you move to Sara? We moved from Virginia Beach, VA (15 ft above sea level) to Albuquerque, NM (5,800 ft above sea level) But I think I'm fine now.

We walked a mall today, and then did a six mile round trip bike ride. And being at the base of a mountain much of that ride was uphill! Hubby had the day off today. We went bowling yesterday, I did a four mile round trip walk, again at least half of that is uphill. And we will bowl again tomorrow. Plus I need to get some strength training in.

I'm still adjusting to my change in altitude as well, mostly if I exercise outside. This is one of the reasons why I try to workout in my apartment most of the time, that way I don't have to worry about that.

How is everyone doing today? I have a crazy busy week... 2 finals, 3 papers, and a discussion. Thankfully I have 2 of 3 papers done, the discussion is done, and I started one of the finals. I've been able to exercise Monday and Tuesday so far, and I'm planning on getting a workout in tonight after church.

CJ, it definitely is paying off. :)

Laura, I'm sorry to hear that you had a gain, but it happens. As CJ said, it's good that you realized why you gained. Now you can make changes. I'm proud of you for getting back on the wagon.

I got back into a fitness routine today as well... 22 minutes of cardio and some push-ups and a plank.

I had a gain this week probably due to the weekend. Saturday I had my grandsons birthday party then a open house in the evening. Sunday I went downriver with my hubby and we ordered pizza for dinner. No exercise and plenty of good food that I had no idea how to track.

I'm back with it today. I got 25 minutes on the elliptical and have a good healthy dinner planned.

And I have decided that I am going to start an exercise program tomorrow, I'm thinking the 30 Day Shred but I will really need all of your motivation. I cannot wait to start it up!

Great job, both of you!

Today my friends who are visiting from Texas and I hiked for 2.5 hours. It was an amazing workout but I am so drained now! Tomorrow we are planning on going hiking again before they leave... I love the feeling of exercising again. I vow to get back into it from now on.

Weighing in tomorrow... I have high hopes.

Ok haven't done very well getting on here to report... but I did walk 4 miles today. 2 miles to the library then 2 miles back. Gotta get back in the habit of reporting on here daily.

That is awesome Laura! I think it is always hard on the backside when you haven't been riding for a while.

I finally got the tires pumped up on my bike. I haven't ridden in a couple of years. You would think with all this extra cushion on my butt plus a cushy gel seat that it would help my butt from being sore when I ride it, but noooo! It was fun though. I only did about 15 minutes but it was a start. I also got in 20 minutes on the elliptical.

After a long holiday weekend with lots of company it was nice to get back on track.

Awesome Sara! I am trying to get back into the habit of daily recordings on here. I know I have lost, but I will weigh tomorrow. I have done my exercises every day and we are eating much better!

After my binge on Tuesday, the rest of the week went really well nutritionally. And the scale is going in the right direction again, 2 pounds lost this week. Still trying to get back into a fitness routine... that is my goal for this week and continuing to do well with my nutrition.

OK, catching up a bit. Monday, walk with hubby.
Tuesday, 5 strength exercises
Wednesday, swimming with hubby

Going slow though because we are having to adjust to altitude. But going slow is not stopping!

I am, starting my day out with some coffee, a healthy breakfast and 32 oz of water. Today will be different. If the foods not in the house, I can't eat it. :)

I have to be honest with all of you... yesterday was my worst nutritional day in a long time. But the positive behind it, all the snack food in my house is gone now.

Hello!

It's so good to be back on here! I have missed this. We were on a 30 leave between duty stations and it was difficult to keep up on my phone. I do have a smart phone, but prefer to see this on a larger screen. 30 day leaves are not good for keeping weight off. I gained. But we are in our new home now and here are my goals:

ēMon-Wed-Fri, strength Tue-Thur

ēTrack food and exercise daily

Good ones!

Mine are:
* continue tracking food daily, sticking within calorie and nutrient ranges as much as possible (tricky as we move into holiday mode - I will have to write into a notebook and then log in when I can).
* continue cardio at least 5 times a week
* start strength training 2-3 times a week

Here, we will post our goals for the Flip into Fall Challenge.

We then post our progress daily, or as often as we are able.

For example:

Example 1 - My goals might be to begin strength training this summer. I will post:

Goal for Flip into Fall Challenge:
* begin strength training
* will do this two to three times weekly, using full body strength workouts

Example 2 - Or, I might want to make sure I track my food daily, so I would post:
Goals for Flip into Fall Challenge:
* track all food daily

You get the idea.

So, head on over to the weigh in thread here:

www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_messagebo
ard_thread.asp?board=186x11877x53958655

And then make a post here with your goals for this summer as we get ready to Flip into Fall!
