I went Christmas shopping with DH this weekend...and I didn't count my calories while I was out eating..I thought for sure that I had gained at least 3lbs..oh yes, I even ate some cookies and peanut butter cups...but to my surprise I didn't...weighing in at 173..it's 1 pound but I will take it!

Okay I'm back on track today. Little late since I gained some this last week. The cookies were my downfall at 200 calories a pop and some days I ate 3 or 4. Luckily I only made a small batch and they are all gone. Plus I really didn't workout much last week. I had vertigo which made it difficult to workout.
I'm meeting my "walking" buddy on Wednesday and have some healthy dinners planned for the week. I'm back and going to lose those pounds that I gained back.

Official weight is 144.

175! Yay! I am back where I started at the first weigh in! LOL at least I didn't keep going up as I would have in the past!

Yes, CJ my hubby deployed the week before Thanksgiving and will be home sometime around Valentines day. That was one reason for taking this challenge, I want to actually LOSE weight while he is gone, not gain! But with him being gone at the Holidays makes it more difficult. Military spouses can use them being gone, and holiday food as excuses to ignore healthy eating habits. I appreciate all of you even if I just read and don't comment. This time talking to you all is helping much!

I haven't had a good week. Ate too many sugar cookies, they are all gone now so I guess that is one good way to look at it. I will not be able to eat anymore.
I know I've probably gained some of those pounds that I lost back. But it's a new day I'll get back on track and beat those cookies one way or another

Quality time? Does that he took me to the doctor yesterday count. It's 30 miles away and he didn't want me to drive....partly because I have vertigo and partly because of snowy roads. After the appointment we went to Burger king and got breakfast sandwiches. Made up for Burger King with eating a yummy stir-fry for dinner that we made together. Takes a lot of time to chop all those veggies but it was worth it. It turned out great! So I guess cooking dinner together could count too.

A lovely walk in the snow sounds wonderful! I actually get to have emails daily from hubby which is wonderful! And I have a blown up picture of his face glued on to a fan that I take with me when I go places and take his picture to send to him via email. He loves it and people get a kick out of it where ever I go! emoticon

Oh no!! 177!! Aghhhh! That is the wrong direction! LOL It will come off I have no doubt. I may not record things well on SP, but I do keep track of my body so I know a couple of things.

First, that every time I join a challenge there is this war between flesh and spirit so to speak and flesh says, "here have a couple of extra pounds to see if you still want to torture me this way!" Spirit ALWAYS wins though and those pounds and more will come off, and it is NOT torture! HA!

Second, there is the element of water weight gain, even though I had a hysterectomy a few years ago I still seem to have those days every month that water weight comes on and then flows right back off.

And Third, it is always difficult to eat well when hubby is deployed. This is another reason I signed on to this group. My friend and I (whose hubby is also deployed) discussed this yesterday. It is not that we eat more comfort food, it is that we eat for convenience and that is not always healthy. So she and I are going to buddy up and encourage one another to eat healthy and be healthy when our hubbies return. And I have the added encouragement from all of you!

So, knowing that whether or not I 'win' this challenge, it will be a big win in the end! emoticon

I'm officially weighing in and starting this challenge at 145.5. That's not as bad as I thought. My goal is to lose 5 pounds by Christmas. Starting today I am back on that healthy living wagon! I'm even trying out a new soup recipe today!

I was 146.5 last time I weighed myself. I'll do an offical weigh in either tomorrow or Monday. Like I said I was a bad girl over Thanksgiving probably shouldn't have had pie for breakfast but hey it's a fruit right? emoticon I may end up being right on with Jane as far as weight goes.

I'm in too. I was a VERY bad girl over the holiday. I'm starting out at 146.5.
I'm all ready to get back on track now that Thanksgiving is over...luckily my loving husband is with me on it. He even said we need to get back on track with measuring and weighing out our food!

I'm with you CJ. Even though I've been losing and re-gaining the same two pounds, I find these challenges keep me in check from re-gaining too much. emoticon

Christmas is only 4 weeks away!

Even those of you who may not celebrate Christmas, there are only 5 weeks away from the start of the new year, and many of us like to start off the new calendar with a BANG!

So, here we go, 4 weeks to buckle down and follow our plans.

This is a straight-up weight loss challenge. Post daily or weekly, whatever you prefer.

The biggest loser at the end of 4 weeks is the winner.

Bonus points for the team member who also includes the following in the challenge: time with your spouse. We all know that a good relationship needs nurturing, and that means time spent with our loved ones.

Before the hustle and bustle of the holidays threaten to take over, make sure you are spending some quality time with your spouse at least once a week. Go to a movie, go for a walk, play a game, wash the dishes together, and put some music on when you are done to dance in the kitchen, snuggle and kiss on the couch - you choose.

If you would like to play along, post your intention to join here, and post your starting weight as of this weekend. Yes, I know it is just after Thanksgiving, but what better time to start, right?
