You ask a great question!
Let's do a new challenge - to get ready for the Christmas (and other holidays) season.

I'll set that up this weekend.

I went backwards in July. WAY too much eating out and going over calorie range. Every summer when our schedules changes, this happens. I've gained weight since June 1. Time to make better food choices!

No loss this week but no gain either. CJ I can associate with you on TOM because I am just coming off mine. I got me a new pedometer today and also bought me a 5 mile walk dvd so I hope next week I can really get back into the game.
CJ I have my a/c cranking full blast in my house. I have to run window units due to having an old house but I have a total of 4 to keep everything cool.

Hang in there and you can do it. I have not been staying on coarse these past few weeks due to VBS at church and other things but I hope this week to make my change back to workouts once again. Trying taking a little break and see if that won't jump start your losing once again. I know for me it helped so hang in there girl.

Starting weight - 170.0 lbs
Week 1 - 170.2 lbs

Went up, but not by much, considering the amount of junk food I ate this past week!

My mother and I have a pact now, to lose a certain amount by September 16 - the day before my niece's (my mother's grandaughter's) wedding.

Mom's already lost between 6 and 10 pounds! I told her I was giving her a head start, as she is older and her metabolism is slower.

Very excited as well because all my measurements were down but I haven't measured in a couple of months. Need motivation though because due to the heat been a chore to want to exercise due to muscles staying weak and sore. Drinking tons of water but not seeming to help me.

Good idea, Jane. That's one reason men lose faster than women - more muscle mass than we have. It's hard to fit everything, but it is worth it when we do it.

I started on the Walk tape that had the boosted cables with it and love it to get mine in. It incorporates it in with my cardio by using the cables and noticed a big difference in my arm strength. Good luck Jane.

Well, didn't make my goal on our last challenge but still working at it. So, count me in. I'm trying to concentrate more on strength training this month. After all, muscle burns more calories then fat, right? I've always stressed cardio more because I have felt I was getting more of a workout. Also, cardio helps get those 10,000 steps in. It's going to be difficult to push for more strength time cutting into cardio time, but hopefully it will help get things moving again.

I'm in! I finally broke through that plateau I was complaining about during the last challenge, and I am pretty hopeful that I might finally get (and stay) below 225 lbs this summer (possibly even this month).

I weighed in on Friday at 229 lbs. I actually weigh myself every morning and post my average for the week on Tuesday mornings to the site, but I'll use my actual Friday weight for this challenge, if that's okay with everyone else. emoticon

Thanks for this challenge, CJ and MSTIGGERFAN!

I am going to focus on tracking food and keeping the calories in check, especially since, presently, I am not exercising--my favorite form of stress relief and SP points!

On Tuesday, the 5th, I will be two weeks post-op and can start light exercise, like walking. No heavy lifting or ST until at least August 1.

These constraints have racked havoc on all my hard-earned SP streaks, but I am trying hard to let them go. This temporary setback will only last a short time and then I am hoping to exercise with more intensity than ever!

I appreciate the timing of this challenge to help me through my rehab.

I certainly am and hope alot more will be.
I am starting off at 226.6 and my goal is to pull off another 20 pounds on this challenge as well.

CJ, are you putting up a weigh in schedule of every two weeks again or how do we need to do this. I hope we see alot of others with us and sent out a spark message in hopes of generating more to come see us here. Come on all and let help motivate one another.

If you are like me, we might tend to go off track in the summer as we go to barbeques, fairs, patio parties, ball games, etc. A few too many hot dogs and hamburgers with all the extras, candy apples and funnel cakes, donuts, and cotton candy floss, and suddenly we are losing ground in our weight loss efforts!

To help us stay on track this summer, join me in a summer challenge to stay focused and on target to reach our goals.

Let's run this challenge from this weekend until August 30. Two months to keep us where we should be.

Weigh in when you get a chance - weekly if you can manage it.
