Valentine's Challenge Activities:
1. write your spouse a love letter
2. give your spouse a back rub
3. engage in an outdoor activity together (walk, sporting activity, snowball fight, etc.) emoticon
4. engage in an indoor activity together (board game, watching a movie together, etc.) emoticon
5. give your spouse a gift that you made (card, knick-knack, knitted sweater, whatever)
6. find a book you both think you'll enjoy and take turns reading it aloud to each other
7. make your spouse's favourite healthy meal or snack for them emoticon
8. buy something for your spouse (has to cost less than $5.00) emoticon
9. make up a sexy story together - one starts, the other continues, the first continues, etc. Act it out when you are finished!
10. phone your spouse (or email) to tell them you love them emoticon
11. buy new underclothes and model them for your spouse emoticon
12. dance together in the livingroom
13. light candles all over the room and just sit and watch the flickering light together
14. leave little notes around the house for your spouse to find throughout the day emoticon

#4 - my dh and I went to the last week of a 4-week series on "Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage" - great fun and lots of one-on-one sharing with each other

#10 - I phoned my dh's cell phone while we were both home. He left it on vibrate, so I put down my still-ringing phone on my desk to take his phone to him and tell him it was 'shaking'. That was a hoot when I ran back to grab my extension and he answered!

I am terrible with challenges, but I really want to make this challenge a success.
Today my hubby and I celebrate our 26 wedding anniversary so i really want this to work just like my marriage.

I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! I'm in!

February 1: 10pts
Valentine Challenge: I wrote one love letter...short and sweet!
Strength Training: I did 15 sets of 10 arm lifts with 2 veggie cans. (one lb. each)

February 2: 10pts
Valentine Challenge: My hubby got an awesome back rub today and I put lotion on his back too!
Strength Training: I sat on a foot stool with no back support and did 10 sets of 25 leg lifts...(not easy for me) I DID IT!

February 3: 15pts
Valentine Challenge: Hubby and I took care of three of our grandkids today for 5 and one half hours!
Strength Training: I did leg lifts with all grandkids! About a good 20 minutes...bet i'm sore in the morning!

February 4: 15pts
Valentine Challenge: Today we played CandyLand with our granddaughter and watched Pete's Dragon.
Strength Training: grabbed my veggie cans and worked my arms out for over 30 minutes while watching Pete's Dragon. WOW! proud of myself... emoticon

February 5: 10pts
Valentine Challenge: I hope this counts... I wrote a good morning and I love you note in lipstick on the bathroom mirror. I also bought him a Harley Davidson three bulb lamp to go above his pool table. (he loved both)
Strength Training: arms are sore so I worked my arms again....but this time i did 35 minutes!

February 6: 15pts
Valentine Challenge: Well my hubby is not much of a reader, so we read the thrifty nickel together...he is looking for a bull mastiff and I helped (still looking) we enjoyed each others company.
Strength Training: I did a total of 30 minutes of knee exercises and back exercises that I got off of the Spark articles on preventing aches and pain.

February 7: None...

Valentine Challenge:Hubby surprised me and came home for lunch... I purchased a 88 cent thank you card for hubby and put it in a popcorn bowl with with popcorn and raisens.(we snacked on it together)
Strength Training:I purchased a resistance band at Target for 2.50 (Love the resistance band) and worked my upper body. 10 sets if 12 arm stretches.

Valentine Challenge: I phoned hubby today and told him I love him, I told him why I love him....(sorry I just could'nt start the sexy story thing.

As we are the MARRIED LIFE Team, I figured a Valentine's Day themed challenge was in order.

This Challenge runs from February 1 to February 14.

******The first part of the challenge involves activities we can do with our husband or wife.

I have typed 14 tasks below that involve our spouses. Feel free to do one a day, many a day, or the same one 14 times between February 1 and February 14.

Valentine's Challenge Activities:
1. write your spouse a love letter
2. give your spouse a back rub
3. engage in an outdoor activity together (walk, sporting activity, snowball fight, etc.)
4. engage in an indoor activity together (board game, watching a movie together, etc.)
5. give your spouse a gift that you made (card, knick-knack, knitted sweater, whatever)
6. find a book you both think you'll enjoy and take turns reading it aloud to each other
7. make your spouse's favourite healthy meal or snack for them
8. buy something for your spouse (has to cost less than $5.00)
9. make up a sexy story together - one starts, the other continues, the first continues, etc. Act it out when you are finished!
10. phone your spouse (or email) to tell them you love them
11. buy new underclothes and model them for your spouse
12. dance together in the livingroom
13. light candles all over the room and just sit and watch the flickering light together
14. leave little notes around the house for your spouse to find throughout the day

******The second part of the challenge is strength training, as we wish to be strong to help our spouses and so we can be healthy to enjoy our time together for many years to come!

SparkPeople suggests that everyone strength trains as the benefits are spectacular!

For those of you not already strength training, I would strongly recommend that you begin. There are many articles about the advantages of strength training on the site and I would encourage you to read them if you are unsure.

For those of you who have already done some strength training, I would encourage you to become consistent in your training, aiming for at least 2-3 days of training per week.

SCORING:
For each task you do with your spouse - give yourself 5 points per day. Please mark which number you did for that day.

You are free to enjoy more than one activity per day, but you only get points once per day.

For each day you do strength training (at least 12-15 reps of one strength exercise), give yourself 10 points.
