Only a few of us tried this one out, but we did very well!

I don't know about you guys, but I enjoy these types of challenges, the 'free-tasks' ones where we get to pick which day we do what. Let me know if you guys agree and I'll try and think of other tasks to complete, maybe with a Christmas theme for next time or something!

totals:

BABIE_JANE - 60 POINTS

CJBAGGINS - 60 POINTS

CPHT03 - 60 POINTS

JCEDIT89 - 60 POINTS

JCOLUMBINE - 70 POINTS

TEETEE82 - 70 POINTS

Congratulations all who took part!
And a blue ribbon

to Teetee and Jcolumbine!!

cjbaggins' total - 60 points (never did get any cardio in!)

Details way below.

guys - I'm afraid I probably won't be able to tally this challenge until I get a computer - it takes a long time and my time at work on the computer is very limited.

5 points for each task.
Each task will only earn points ONCE.
Total of 70 points for all 14 tasks.

The tasks:

1. Post to the Married Life Team Huddle! 9/22+ do this most everyday emoticon

2. Post to your Buddy Team thread, or to the monthly chat room thread. 9/23 emoticon

3. Do as many push-ups as you can physically muster. These can include, depending on your personal fitness level, wall push-ups, modified (‘girl’) push-ups, regular push-ups, one-armed push-ups ;)
9/24 25 modified push ups in the AM, 10 tricep push ups in the AM, 35 push ups in PM emoticon

4. Do as many lying abduction exercises as you can physically muster 9/23 did 50 each leg emoticon

5. Do at least 30 minutes of cardio with your spouse. If your spouse is not in town (on business, deployed, etc., then do cardio with your kids, or if you have none or they are not available, with another family member). 9/23 DH & I went walking around the track at the school down the street for 30 minutes emoticon

6. Get or make a gift for your spouse - this must be either home made (card, scarf you knitted, picture you sketched, etc. OR cost under $5) 9/23 cooking his favorite meal, spaghetti, so he will smell it when he comes in the door. Sent e-card invite for dinner. emoticon

7. Do either 30 minutes of cardio of an exercise that you don’t normally do, or haven’t done in a long while, OR try a new strength training exercise and try to do 30 repetitions of it.
9/24 Denise Austin's Personal Training System this AM, it has been at least a month or two since I have done it emoticon

8. Perform a random act of wellness - rake your neighbour’s leaves, take fruit and veggies into your workplace instead of donuts and danish, pack a healthy lunch for your spouse. Do something that either gives a bit of extra health to someone you care about, or performs an act of kindness or service for someone you care about which has the side effect of getting you active. - 9/26 I took a fresh veggie tray in to work emoticon

9. Post your favourite thing about your spouse.
9/24 He has made my life complete and his baby blues. emoticon

10. The personal time last week was so fun, we’re doing some more. Feed your soul. Take a MINIMUM of 20 minutes to yourself one day this week to just CHILL. Meditate, pray, read scripture or motivational material, do it ALONE. We can all manage 20 minutes for this. And since this can be highly personal, there is no need to share specifics unless you feel like it. 9/28 emoticon

11. Write your spouse a love letter (or love email or whatever).
12. Have a no TV evening and play cards, sit and talk, listen to music together instead.
13. Make your spouse’s favourite healthy meal or snack for them.

9/28 made pumpkin muffins, not necessarily his all time favorite but he does love them emoticon

14. Repeat one of the previous activities that you especially enjoyed - so you get points twice for one of the tasks - I guess I lied! - 9/28 This morning I did Denise Austin Cardio Blast (the whole thing), I can't remember the last time I did it. I don't know why I don't do the Denise Austin workouts more often, because I really do love them and they certainly give me a workout. emoticon

OH, and guys - post what you did. For instance, if you say you've done an extra 30 minutes cardio you don't normally do, what exercise did you choose? Also, tell us which strength training exercise you decided to try that you'd never done before, or what you did for you alone time (if it's not too personal).

Any tasks that require you to tell us something, just post here in your thread.

Bridget - how about crunches or something else? Just pick something, preferably something to do with arm muscles, but if that's not possible, pick something else.

Thank you CJ!

The tasks:

1. Post to the Married Life Team Huddle!
2. Post to your Buddy Team thread, or to the monthly chat room thread.
3. Do as many push-ups as you can physically muster. These can include, depending on your personal fitness level, wall push-ups, modified (‘girl’) push-ups, regular push-ups, one-armed push-ups ;)
4. Do as many lying abduction exercises as you can physically muster (also called leg lifts - see the following link for a demo):
www.sparkpeople.com/resource/exercises.a
sp
?ID=149&from=fitness
5. Do at least 30 minutes of cardio with your spouse. If your spouse is not in town (on business, deployed, etc., then do cardio with your kids, or if you have none or they are not available, with another family member).
6. Get or make a gift for your spouse - this must be either home made (card, scarf you knitted, picture you sketched, etc. OR cost under $5)
7. Do either 30 minutes of cardio of an exercise that you don’t normally do, or haven’t done in a long while, OR try a new strength training exercise and try to do 30 repetitions of it.
9. Post your favourite thing about your spouse.
11. Write your spouse a love letter (or love email or whatever).
12. Have a no TV evening and play cards, sit and talk, listen to music together instead.
13. Make your spouse’s favourite healthy meal or snack for them.

14 tasks challenge

Once again, I cannot take full credit for this challenge. The idea for this one comes from (who else) the wonderful Zircadia. This is used with her permission. Although I have changed some of the tasks to reflect our Married Life Team, the idea was hers.

You have 14 items to try and complete this week (and a bit - the challenge goes to 30 September). You don't have to do them in any order, or on any certain day. In fact, you can do them all on one day if you wish, space them out 2 to a day, or anything in between these two extremes.

Scoring:
5 points for each task.
Each task will only earn points ONCE.
Total of 70 points for all 14 tasks.

The tasks:

1. Post to the Married Life Team Huddle!
2. Post to your Buddy Team thread, or to the monthly chat room thread.
3. Do as many push-ups as you can physically muster. These can include, depending on your personal fitness level, wall push-ups, modified (‘girl’) push-ups, regular push-ups, one-armed push-ups ;)

The format below may be useful for you to keep track. Post the date you did an activity, the task number you performed, and any info you wish to add (what cardio you did with spouse, etc.).

Please note - for ease of my tallying up results at the end of the month, if possible, simply make one post at the beginning of the week and just keep editing that one, otherwise, when I start at the bottom to count up later, I sometimes miss your more recent posts, as I see your older ones further down. Did that make any sense?

As always, any questions, ask them here or SparkMail and I'll answer them as soon as I can.

Good luck and have fun!
