Well, what with illnesses and sore backs, and busy lives, we didn't get nearly as many miles as I thought we would.

Nevertheless, some members stuck with it the whole month.

Four members posted right to the bitter end and they are:

MSTIGGERFAN - 9 miles (her illnesses and sore back really slowed her down this month). Hope you're feeling better now, Cherly!

Grand total for the month - 65.9 miles. I'm going to round that up and say 66 miles,a s I probably had more than 8 for my camping weeks, walking to the bathroom umpteen times a day and walking to the beach every day and all. I'm sure I got in an extra 0.1 of a mile!

So, anyone beat 66 miles? Come on guys! I'm sure someone did!

Week 1 - 4.4 miles (got hurt July 3rd)
Week 2 - 11.5 miles
Week 3 - about 8 miles at least
Week 4 - lost track while camping, but we did go for a long walk every day, although they were at a slower pace as most were with my young niece and nephew so not very many miles. I'd say about 8 miles again, with all the swimming we did. I'd say more, but I don't want to inflate my numbers without proof.

Week 1 - total 4.4 miles (got hurt July 3!)
Week 2 - total 11.5 miles (still not what I wanted when I started this challenge, but better than I thought I'd get when I threw my back out!)

Week 3:
I lost track a bit, but I know I did at least 3 miles on Wednesday, July 16, and at least a mile each of the other days this week. Therefore I'm going to say 8 miles for this week so far. I'll post later any additions for Saturday and Sunday.

Good luck MOUSEKITTY!
Starting small is better than burning out too soon! Slow and steady is best.

Update for me, since my injury last week:

Have the go-ahead from my chiropractor to begin walking further now. Yippee! He also said I could try my gazelle, at a moderate or slow, but not fast, pace. He said no to biking or anything strenuous, though!

Week 1 - total 4.4 miles (got hurt July 3!)
Week 2:
7/8 - 2 miles (60 minutes total at 30 minutes/mile)
7/9: 2.5 miles
I'm baaaaack!
7/10: 4 miles!!
7/11: 3 miles

Round trip it is about 5 miles from my house to my old high school. I'm not sure I can do that much cardio by the end of the month, but I'd like to try! So I'll make my goal to walk 5 miles every week! Wow, that's going to be hard, because it's about double what I walk presently!

Hi team,

My schools are way to far away so I will do the school that my son will attend in 2 years when he is old enough to go. That is 3 miles away. I will try to do 3 miles a day at least 5 days a week. This will be a challenge as my whole routine has gotten way out of whack the last month. Time to start today!

I'm afraid I have to postpone my workouts for a while. I threw my back out yesterday and doc says to take it easy for a while. I'm to walk (slowly) but not bend, stretch, lean over, etc.). My mileage will have to wait unfortunately.

Don't worry, I'll be back later, stronger than ever and beat the pants off all of you!

My girls' school is 9.09 miles from home. Because I've been completely inactive with the exception of normal housework, children, etc, I'm shooting for 10 miles per week, beginning tomorrow.

Well all of my schools are far too far away from where we now live, so instead I will use the school I hope my future children will go to, which is 2 miles away. My aim is going to be 2 miles walk per day, 5 days per week.

Is this cardio miles? Or just miles?

If it is cardio miles, then I will do just the distance to the school which is 7 miles.

If it is miles, then I will do 21 miles a week.

Ok team I want to set my goals to be 5 miles 3 to 4 days a week for me being a total between 15-20 miles a week.
Week 1
7/1 6 miles
7/2 I didn't get any done. I went to the doctor and I am retaining fluid and my feet feel like their about to bust. It must get better.

Yeah. We all have the word 'edit' above our username to click on. It's there in case we need to add something or if we've made a mistake that we didn't catch earlier.

We can't see yours, only our own edit button. I don't think there's anyway to get rid of it.

Sounds like a great challenge! My h.s. and college are several hundred miles from me. So I will use either the elementary, middle, or h.s. of my kids. I have to check out how many mi. they are from the house. The h.s. is the furtherst.

Starting July 1st, all we'd have to do to get this challenge to the top of the general message board is to take off the sticky for the old challenge and keep this one as a sticky. That way, when it gets the most recent posts in it, it will automatically get bumped to the very top.

Whoever gets to it first on July 1st can 'unsticky' the old one. Does that work?

Since my high school or college is about 22,000 miles away by plane one way. I think I will just set up my goal to visit Marymount University which is about 15 miles one way. I want to set my goal to 25 miles a week which is approximately 5 miles a day with 2 days of rest.

Just checked the map. It's 4 miles to the school where I work currently.

Hmmm...I think I'll challenge myself to move 4 miles a day 5 days a week for a total of 20 miles per week.

I'll post weekly my results.
I've been slacking off in my cardio lately. This will be good for me!

I lived literally right next door to the elementary school I attended. That one's not going to work for the challenge!

The high school was a little further away, but still not far enough (maybe 2 km or almost a mile). Hmmm...that school is now over 500 miles away (we moved cities). That is really pushing it to do that amount in a month.

I think I'll use the distance to my children's current school (and the school where I work). That should work well.

It is 6.5 miles to where I teach. I can do there and back during the summer. So my goal would be 13 miles a week.

For this challenge I would like for all of us to figure up how many miles it is to the school emoticon where we went to school, or college, or it that's two far to your childs school or whatever school you choose and do that many miles each week or so many times per day each week. I live about 7 to 10 miles from the school I graduated from in high school and have a reunion coming in September for 20 years of being out. I would like to set my goal to be 14-20 miles of cardio emoticon per week to lose the weight I would like to before my reunion. I hope you all enjoy this challenge and can post as often as you like and use the thread for motivation. At the end of the month I would like for all of you to post your totals for this month in cardio emoticon to see who the big winner emoticon may be. Let's have lots of fun team. emoticon
