Motivation and 90 Days
Happy New Year Everyone! Sorry I haven’t been able to get back to everyone sooner but between my work, overtime, and continuing health problems I haven’t been able to get on the computer to be with you! This year I’m going to intensify my efforts and make more solid progress. I have gained back 10 pounds and I had the New Years Blues but… now that is in the past! New Year… New Goals! What I have learned over the years is that your past is in the past and you can’t change that… but you are in control of your future! I would like to start out with is this simple statement that has a big impact on all of us!
YOU ARE WHAT YOU REPEATEDLY DO
Answer these questions…
When you watch TV do you snack? ……….. I sometimes do
When you eat breakfast, lunch and dinner do you Watch TV?............. Occasionally I do
Do you have a snack before you go to bed? …………..When Offered but I don’t go out of my way!
Here’s what I found… When I watch TV I sit idle…I don’t get off my tush to do my exercise or to get outside to enjoy the outdoors, the fresh air… to keep moving to stay fit. Also… When watching TV I get bombarded with food commercials making me want to eat even more! So now I have no exercise and the idiot Box is telling me that I really should eat more! Get More Snacks! Eat Eat Eat! Is this what I want?
First you make your habits, and then your habits make you. You become a slave to your constantly repeated acts. What at first you chose, at last compels. If you snack… you’ll continue to snack. If you get no exercise… you’ll continue to get no exercise! This is of course unless YOU CHANGE WHAT YOU DO!
Here is how 90 days can change your life!
To break your habits you have to dedicate yourself to the change. Your thoughts lead you to a purpose. Your purpose moves you to take action. Your actions form your habits, your habits determine your character, and your character fixes your destiny. It takes approximately 90 days to form a habit that you will follow. If you work out for 90 days, you’ll probably work out for life because this becomes your habit! If you have fun outside for 90 days, riding bikes, running, jogging, swimming, skating, building a snowman, skipping walking along the beach, skiing, sports, playing with the kids… you’ll probably continue this for LIFE!
Incredible isn’t it… how 90 days can change your life! Your habits are either the best of servants or the worst of masters.
So you see… the choice is yours… watch TV, no exercise snacking… or exercise, fun, good times, movement… Remember…once in motion, a pattern tends to stay in motion.
ALL PERSONAL GROWTH INVOLVES CHANGE
If you want to grow… take yourself to new heights! You have to be able to assess where you are and want to go to a place where you want to be! You have to figure out what you have to change and take the next step… one step at a time… to change what you don’t like into something that you do like! Remember…personal growth is the process of responding positively to change. It involves risk as you step from the known to the unknown. All your growth will depend on your activity. Your strength and growth will come only through continuous effort and struggle. There will be no development without effort. It’s through this constant effort that progress will be made.
Are you ready for your transformation? Are you ready for your lifestyle change? are you ready for your 90 Day Makeover?
Who you are determines what you do! Everyone has burdens… everyone has trials and troubles… and the troubles in your life influence how you respond towards positive change. Life’s trouble is the common denominator of living. It is the great equalizer of life. Your trials, your sorrows and your grief's will develop you. When good or bad fortune comes your way, you must give it meaning and transform it into something of value. You must move forward and move on. Don’t dwell in the past!
Turn your troubles into your victories! In my case, I can’t walk well so I won’t ever be a Olympic sprinter but I can move forward and continue walking and strive to do better and never to give up… Who knows maybe I can work up to a power walk… I can continue to do better… go for a personal best. No, I can’t be in the Olympics but that doesn’t mean I can’t try to better myself! I bet in 90 days I’ll better myself and I bet you can too!!
What happens to you is not as important as your reaction to what is happening.
If life gives you lemons you have choices...… You can make lemonade… open a lemon stand… open a bar that specializes in lemon drinks… Supply a grocery chain with lemons … or… Do Nothing…
It’s your choice! To do nothing means no change in your life and no progress… It may even mean you go backwards and possibly get worse! … All the other choices involve work… hard work, dedication, perspiration and an incredible work ethic! Are you ready for an incredible Lifestyle change? Give yourself 90 days… work hard for 90 days… keep your new schedule for 90 days and you’ll have that new life you’re looking for!
I’m ready to rededicate my life to the pursuit of the betterment of my life. I want to redirect my thinking to a more positive way of life. I want to eat better, I want to live better and I want to grow in my life so I can enjoy my life longer. I don’t think I’m asking too much! I want the most out of life and I’m going to get it!
You can to…. Remember… It only takes 90 days… Are you ready?
